If so it sounds like we have just spent the last 5 yrs messing about and comming up with the old TG3 way of doing it?

Call me cynical (most people do!) but that would be a bigger U-turn than the brown 10p Tax. But I think it is the best way!
Shame all that cash and peoples time got wasted......

Can anyone confirm what the latest is? Latest news on CISMST site is the promotion changes that nobody seems to have heard about still.

I hope some fecker gets hung* over the whole sh!t pie that is TG4.

*Metaphorically speaking ofc.

Sorry guys but TG 4 is the way forward whether you like it or not. The people in alot higher pay band than us have said so.

Like it or not we might as well get on with it, it's not going to change.

The future plan is to have one stream (no IM / CIS TECH ballocks or AEs) these people will be able to fix stuff and do computers and also climb masts.

Now call me stupid (some do!) but when I went through training we did computers and radars and even became qualified to climb....
Tell me how TG4 is the future and not just the PAST with some ex TG11 and riggers in the mix. But now we have lost the JT and CT rank and the higher pay band!

I say again does anyone know whats happening to the BT courses?

Heard from an AFCO recruiter at the weekend that the new recruits leaving Cosford are describe as Technicians and not OM's anymore. So i asked the wobbly at work what the deal was, so after some digging with the trade sponsor this is the outcome.

The new basics are leaving as ICT Technicians but apparently still on the lower pay band. At some point ACOS (or whoever else) will select 15% of those personnel to go back and do some 'further technical training' (note not a BT2/3 course) those personnel get one chance to pass it and if they do they leave on the higher pay band.

Those not selected have to carry on as they were on the lower pay band until they gain promotion to Cpl.

Apparently this is due for release soon. :PDT_Xtremez_35:

I'd heard about this 15% but sounded more like that was the legacy kit where you need the Q to work on the kit.

Sounds like some sort of mech/ fitters course type arrangement which worked well in the past for TG3 except for those who missed out and ended up out at 9 yrs. At least this way they may still get picked up eventually, without being able to do the heavier stuff?

I've heard from a very good source that BT's are scrapped and within 3 years we will have joint boards all the way down, not sure what will happen to the riggers, peanuts and winging tech's(joke) but i'm sure we'll have some kind of individual name in brackets, yes it is a shame all got fuk around but hey lets live with it.
