A mate of mine drove from Kinloss to south Wales with his wife and child, told her he was just popping out for some cigs and drove all the way back and left her there. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
a guy on my fitters course did somrthing similar, home on leave his missus sent him out for a loaf and he fcukrd off back to the Shoulder of mutton in Wendover

Did a Bruggen - Calais, over on the ferry then from Dover to Lossiemouth in a oner in my Golf full of kit and a bike trailer on the back with two motorbikes when I got posted back to Lossie.

That was a red eye trip on my own!!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

For a while after STM re-roled and most of us were posted to ISK I still had a house in Truro that needed a little work completing so I used to work up until the Sunday on nights and scam the remainder of the shift off to drive home...I'd get changed at 2200 at work and slide off...Often with a bloke from callington with me for shares in petrol although he refused to share the driving...We would refuel just North of Birmingham at about 0500 and grab a sarnie then continue on down to his gaff...ending up in Truro at about 1000...utterly drained.

And that happened every 5 weeks until I sold the place a year later....

Drove Boulmer to Naples over 36 hours in September 2005 with my missus in her wee Citreon Saxo.

17hr ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Naples via frankfurt, Basle, Milan & Rome.

We intended to stop off on-route, but decided to just keep going, Arrive in Naples at about 1030 in the morning, slept until2pm then started on the vino russo to help us sleep that night.

got to do it all again in december, but the return leg...

Done a trip from Lake Lucerne in Switzerland to Honington about 700miles in one day. Used to regularly do the Cosford Lossie trip each month round trip in a weekend 500ish miles each way.

The worst one for me was driving a LWB van from Lyneham to Leuchars to Bradford to manchester to lyneham Ohh what fun that was about 1300 ish miles with just a few hrs kip somewhere on the M6, might have been the outside lane!!

Had a proper "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" day a couple of years ago.

Flew from New York to Paris, then Paris to Birmingham. Got the train to Derby where I picked up the kids and the car. Drove to Dover, took the Ferry to Calais and then drove the rest of the way to SHAPE.

About 4000 miles which took 26 hours from leaving the tarmac at JFK to walking in through my front door.

Drove from Bruggen - Aalborg every other weekend for 6 months (550 miles each way). Things you'll do to get your leg over ......

17 and a half hours from Kinloss to St Mawgan in feb 01, set off at 1600hrs and half hour later it was snowing.

Did it on a motorbike. when i got to St Mawgan it was all i could do to kick the side stand down and fall off the bike, my mates practically carried me into the block.

In '88 I went from Laarbruch to Edinburgh via Calais Dover ferry in 13 hours, including the ferry trip.
Speed cameras were non existant then.....aaaahhhh

Bruggen to Venice Sept 98 in 13 1/2 hours.
Various times from Louseymouth to Falmouth in a oner, usually took 13 - 14 hours with one stop for fuel at Sandbach.
Once did Lossie to Falmouth leaving 02:30 Friday morning, went to the Mother in Laws 50th that night & up to Manchester airport leaving at 06:00 on the Sat to go on holiday......kin knackered I was!!!!

Downtown Montreal, through Toronto and onto Niagara Falls in 1 day. Took 2 hours to get through the Toronto rush hour.

In total that was abot 10 hours at a steady 100kph (except the stop start of Toronto). Mrs BEngO and I shared the drive but as we were both still suffering the combined effects of jet-lag and a 28 delay on our flight out to Canada, it was quite the red-eye run. Thank fcuk for the Tim Hortons at every rest stop!

Hertz had upgraded our booking to 5.0l V8 2006 Ford Explorer with full leather, 8 disc CD, dual climate, sunroof etc. Driver's seat was like a big leather armchair (not ideal for keepin you awake!).

Tim Hortons is a life saver!

weston super mare - london- weston super mare - manchester.
mercy run to pick up me dad in london then pick up me mum for another mercy dash to my brothers, cant remember what the problems were but was dog tired after.:PDT_Xtremez_42: well over driving hours

Longest on the go would probably be Perth WA to Adelaide WA, two days of solid driving.
Used to drive from kinloss to east yorkshire for the weekend on a regular basis, used to average 1000 miles a week for my short stay up there. My last long drive was around California 1500miles, but we did take 15 days.

I did drive a fastrack 120miles across Jordan from our shhh heli base to the harrier hangout up north :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Used to commute from Brize to Central Scotland every weekend (400 miles). Excessive I know but 6 hours on the M6 was nothing compared to the cr@p state of the quarters at BZN.

Less than a month after posted to a station with no commute the exhaust, water pump and head gasket finally packed in.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Left Lossie stupid oclock, broke down @ a little Scotish village called Huntly near keith. Six hours trying to fix a V broke car (Engine management computer frazzeled ) the garage gave up. Got a hire car and drove to Stamford sweet.

whilst at brunssum holland drove all the way to glasgow via dover as Im a tight jock at crimbo, in 14 hours only to be told by my FS to get back two days later, only then to return to the homeland again for rest of leave. 2 round trips from holland to Glasga in 3 days :PDT_Xtremez_34:

also did london south italy in car - 20 hours
