VA - Reading Half Marathon

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Target £1000 total at the min in £816.

So if only 184 of the goaters donated a quid WE would be proud to say we have raised £1000 for an amazing and well deserved charity. To be honest I'm so proud and bowled over by everyones generosity so far. People I've never even met sponsoring me £1, £5, £10 even £56. How amazing is that? Have been having a little read over all the messages of support I've had over the last few months on my just giving page and it actually bought a little tear of pride to my eye!!

Thank you everyone so far. :)

And well done you! That is a brilliant achievement. :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Thanks Grumps. Well done to you, you helped me achieve that! It isn't a solo effort my friend I couldn't do it without the generosity of everyone around me.

Well today's the day guys and I'm cacking my pants. Will let you know how I get on!

Mate, the occasion and the thought of all those funds you've raised will drive you on. As I said on FB, good luck!!

Is very proud and a little overwhelmed to say we have managed to raise £1053.50 for Veterans Aid. I completed the run in 1 hour 57 today. It was a good run but miles 7 to 10 were the hardest. Every step thinking about how lucky I have been to have support from some very kind and generous people. So thank you everyone your wishes got me through the hard miles. I am truely grateful. :)

Well done RAFBurd... Your constant charity fund raising is an insperation to us all...

BTW - did I mention that I knew someone who ran a half marathon once........

Well done, mate. Have a well earned shandy or two. :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Don't forget to post your finishing time on here... If you beat my last time, I might be forced into doing another! :PDT_Xtremez_42:

I was originally hoping for about 1.45 - 1.50 max but I think it'll be closer to 2 hours now.

Bu66er... guess I'm gonna be dusting off my old daps then. :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Oh, double bu66er. :PDT_Xtremez_09:

Looks like I've got to shave a measly 13 minutes of my best time. Me and my big mouth. :PDT_Xtremez_06:

In reality... well done RAF Bird. Are your legs still aching? :PDT_Xtremez_31:

Ha ha no they are ok today to be fair though they were pretty sore yesterday. Back out tomorrow for a 6 miler - gotta keep it up and get training for the next one! Wanted to do the GNR but I'll be away for that. Thinking of organising some OOA half marathon while I'm away so I'd best be fit for that!!

Ah thank you FOMz. Te be fair doing it for charity is actually quite a selfish deed as I spend the few days after it feel pretty mega about myself and everyone who helped me do it. You were one of them so my thanks go to you too. :)
Well done RAF Bird, I'm chuffed for you.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Thanks R78 - was pretty awesome. Loved the atmosphere - just shows you how awesome people can be at times.

Ha ha I sure did that - well a couple of ciders anyway.

That's the best thing about these runs. You can get pi**ed on 2 pints afterwards. Or maybe that's just me.
