War Zone Channel 5

Anyone brave enough to check Arrse for their view? I know I'm not...

This is the nicest thing they have had to say so far "Do you think the producers went to the base commander and asked for the most annoying spunk bucket on camp ? "

And I'm sure she's just gone up in their estimation, been dumped, lets go out and find some jarheads! :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Possibly the worst thing to happen to the RAF PR wise for decades...

OMG, what the f***? What is the point in this programme? Its making Afgan look like a cheap holiday for the forces. No offence to admin, i know your not all like it but what the hell have they got some stupid bint "token WAF" who sounds like she doesn't have a clue, explaining what goes on there. I'm sorry but if i was there and some stupid WAF turned to me and said i think i put your flight papers in the burn bin, i'd proberly drag her over the counter and put her in it.
I'm sure there are off duty places to go, but theres no need to put it the way they have. Now the public are going to think that's all we do.
After all the people that have died out there and all the people that are risking their lives going outside the wire and being shot at and morted, this programme is totaly taking the ****.
I was worried about being sent out there, but now after watching that informative programme, i think i'll go and book my flight now!

Anyone else notice the cameraman spending a good five seconds focused directly on that dizzy waaf's bouncing norks while she was running .. can't blame him mind as I would rather concentrate on them than what she was saying. If they had followed a liney round for a bit longer it might have shown people a bit of what the sharp end does instead of waaf in towel/waaf falls for lamest joke in history/waaf sunbathes/waaf gets boyfriend/waaf goes for a run/ waaf dumps boyfriend/ waaf goes to disco .. oh and by the way a Harrier did a recce and had an engine change.

Never mind .. Next week a Rock gets given a bayonet !! .. riveting stuff.

Warzone - LOL

Can I re-join ??

All you boys who've been telling your wives it's "Hell" are stuffed now !!

I've been to tougher Underground stations on a saturday night.

Not the best start

Not the best start

Not the best start for the RAF so far, perhaps Kandahar Uncovered a better title.

Base looks no different to Incirlik or Bondsteal so far, might be a bit bigger, but it is a base of REMFs, I like being a REMF, it's not Bastion and it certainly aint a FOB.

Lets hope they get stuck in with the Regt/harriers and leave the Pers Support alone, my job just aint that interesting.

So none of you lot have any downtime when you're on det?
You are all stagging on 24hrs a day and patrolling?
Come on, cut them some slack she's an adminer who was making the best out of being away.
She wasn't over there to go out on the ground and let's face it not all the army are frontline so how gives a toss what they say!!
As for the jockey, shock horror he's trying to make himself look good!!
They don't edit the programme and none of us know how we would come across on one of these programmes so let's not judge to harshly.

Awaiting incoming.:PDT_Xtremez_42:

To be fair, what were the top brass thinking? I mean channel 5 don't do the best docos now do they? Who knows with it being Channel 5 and a bit of luck, nobody but forces personel really was watching it, or after watching the BBC1 Christmas in Afgan and the Sun's Millies they think it's just another spoiler towards the forces.

I think someone's missing the point here. Programmes like this start with the simple stuff; lightweight and it gets the viewer into the general scene just lioke the newbies on that job.
I have little doubt that the real 'fun' will start later, showing some of the realities of life in a War Zone.
Give it time, lads. Let the tale develop.

It's a large airbase so it's well equipped so she's gonna use the stuff isin't she?
It's no different than Shi anapa was or Shibiza to some was in Iraq
There was enough people were there in the "war is hell" tee shirts sunbathing and going to discos (tri service) so it dosen't change as some one said it's much the same as Doha etc you wil always get somewhere like that
It's REMF ville I don't have a problem with it although it does make it look as though every one on the tour is on holiday a bit

I would rather focus on the Regiment patrols and the lads working long days showing the problems and what it takes to provide air support for the FOB's maybe our green brethern amy be more inclined to respect the RAF a bit more

It's on C5 and following the exact same pattern as the Navy documentry last year
Same Harrier pilot (unless he lives there!!)
Pick a bird
Bird has on board / on camp bloke
Bird dumps on board / on camp bloke
Everyone parties first chance they get

Dosen't come across well to the blokes who have beeen in FOBs but that's not the RAF's fault - did they see it before it went out?
See how it develops

I can see it now - "The day the Pizza Hut ran out of jalapenos", oh the horror.........

Try telling that to this guy

Clicky thingy

Or to the families of SAC Graham Livingstone, SAC Gary Thompson and SAC Christopher Bridge who were all killed trying to defend that place. Yes it looked like a holiday camp but that was poor editing for many people are working their balls off to ensure Air support is provided to Helmand.

Who is providing all those amenities? Certainly not the MOD!

No point being missed here...

The British public are a fickle bunch...Public feeling for the forces has been nicely growing with some well filmed and carefully considered news reporting and documentories...This pile of sh1t is all the papers and public, if they bothered to watch anything on C5 (lets hopenot eh?), have to talk about for the next 7 days...Why did they have to keep showing shots of the boardwalk (the same one at least twice) and dizzy wrafs sun bathing and pulling? This was the first show in the series so hit Joe Public hard from the start with a more balanced if not imbalanced programme leaning towards the more difficult side of life out there...People back in the UK have less facilities and worse accom when they go to Butlins FFS...

Shocking content choice and the RAF PR/Press people need to be shot for sactioning it...

perhaps it was not a coincidence that two of the trades focused on are pinchpoint trades in dire need of manpower, plus the core that everyone expects, the aircrew and engineers

To a guy who's due out to KAF/Bastion within the next couple of weeks, I had to turn the fcuking thing off about 10 minutes in.

Absolute shower of sh1t as usual that shows the RAF in the worst possible light. I just had the feeling it would follows this exact line of p1sh (as shown by the gung ho advert)

Roll on OOA and me getting the fcuk out of this chicken sh1t outfit! :PDT_Xtremez_42:
