My Godson (now an ex-Para after 24 years) has 12 and my mate retired as a WO with 12 too, based on lots of time with Chinooks.

Just the 5.
Only 2 up until 96' - everyone had the B&B (NI GSM and LSGCM). The SA was about 20 years late.

8 medals in 35yrs, & still got 3 yrs to go. 1 from Tonka Days, 1 from NI, 2 from AT fleet in Transport Command, 3 Jubilee's and a Long Gong with 2 clasps. Cost a fortune to get them mounted

Worc medals have the Coronation miniature available to pre-order.

That's 10 wearable for me - can't wait for the bill when I get them Court Mounted!

Rumour control - I heard last week from a SWO that a DIN is coming out that we can claim for the cost of mounting. Don't know how true that is.

That would be the most sensible thing to happen in a long time. If you are expected to attend functions and told what to wear, then why you then have to pay out of your own pocket for that item is beyond me.

Heard at a brief on Friday it's still under review, and it's apparently aimed at those with 6 or more. Don't shoot the messenger!

Mmmmm, 2 sources now - interesting!

I did some MODNet searching last week, nothing for blue suits so far, but did find something about Navy. 6 medals or more are mounted at Crown expense.

Military medal mounting has minis and the ribbons in stock, £7 a medal to mount.

My half a dozen bits o' tin are in my display cabinet along with my escaping airman figurine (scrambling pilot) and a plethora of many other of my service accrued artefacts an' bits an' bobs....and that is, where they shall remain....

Saw an email last week from Balloon Command - RAF are adopting the RN approach and will pay for court mounting of 6 medals or more; IBN imminent.

Yey!!!

Thats great and all, but surely people would rather have hot water at Marham perhaps?

Or the ACS roof fixed at Halton, or more SFA, or SFA that is habitable, more serviceable jets etc?

There are problems everywhere, this is just one fix in a myriad of other issues.
