The promotion that you all should be looking forward to is the promotion to MR ! ( or MRS ) - life is so much more rewarding financially and life style once you finish your 22. Best thing that happened to me was not getting picked up. Now earn more than a FS and there are thousands of jobs out there.
So let me get this right. You failed in the RAF but managed to do OK in civvy street and that automatically means that we should ALL be desperate to follow suit does it? I think not!
So anyone who doesn't get picked up has "Failed in RAF" - that's quite a sweeping statement don't you think ?
Absolutely not. I was simply trying to make the point that you're comment bought little benefit to this issue. You left and did OK. Have a biscuit! Stating that we should all follow your lead based on that is patronising to say the least. I know plenty of serving members who, despite being in their current rank for long periods, continue to act as Spammy does and give it their all.
And I also continued to give my all right up until the day I left to the point I even lost some leave because I was still going into work to finish a job. So maybe you shouldnt post a judgement about me and my career in the RAF.
The point of my post is that even if people don't get picked up its not the end because there is life out there afterwards where hard work is correctly rewarded as opposed to the lottery of the promotion system. I never told anyone to follow any lead.
The RAF promotion policy ( especially in TG4 ) is a joke - a complete joke , consistently promoting people who are incapable of doing the role required - even more so in the past 5 years. Thankfully a few of the old boys have still sneaked through but the Trade is a lot poorer because of the amount of experience and quality that has left in the past 3 years due to the promotion system.
I could start a very long thread about bitterness, those who don't get promoted and state the wrong people get promoted, the trade losses all the best people, promotion is a lottery.....I could but I won't.....Why? Because its boring and so are you. If life is so good after your illustrious RAF career why bother to start posting on a military thread with regards to a subject you were unsuccessful at or in your in your opinion cheated in some way by the lottery promotion system! Jog on your boring me........now back on subject, has anyone got any gen on when the results will be out?
When did I state I was cheated by anything - I guess you were that bored you failed to read the post correctly. Lots of rather jumpy people all because someone is suggesting that not getting promoted is not the end - I'm fact it could well be a blessing in disguise. But thanks for your highly insightful input.
You know what F*ck this, I'm sick of the moaning, bleating and griping. There comes a point where you have to admit you just didn't have it!!!!
In my humble opinion, a 20 Year Cpl / 10 Year SAC is just that for a reason, not suggesting you are ****e as such, but you have to look beyond the usual conspiracy theories and the "whoa is me tales" of how badly done by you have been!
If you get it then thats Fricken great, genuinely con rats! If you don't then take a deep breath, look in the mirror and do something about it, address the reasons instead of moaning like a ****!
The board will do what it does, if you don't get where you think you should, get a careers brief and do something about it...otherwise just **** off
bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch. I love following the annual promotion whine fest. If you get it - well done and give yourself a nice pat on the back. If not, oh well, there is always next year (unless you're PVR'ing out of protest; or have reaced the end of your time)... Life is not fair, and know one should expect it to be!
Having said that, I wish you all good luck.DT_Xtremez_19:
My best mate got the nod today from our chief clk and is over the moon...
Was that from the last years quota (last i heard upto 57) or from the board that's sat this week, if this week he must have been very high up the list.
(I know the answers probably thew last quota but if you don't ask you'll never know)
No bleating here -
