Outstanding work Jon. Out of interest, did you have to fight to stay in the RAF, or was it not a problem? Unless that's another story altogether......

Sent some sovs your way.

Hi Jack Brew

At the moment I am still on sick leave and awaiting to return back to work. After my treatment has finished and a detailed work assessment has been carried out then a med board can sit. Timescale wise I will be looking at oct 2008 at the earliest for a med board and who knows what the outcome of that will be.

So far no one has given me any indication on whether I will beable to be retained in the forces. If I can stay I am unsure if I can return to my job and if I cant then they might offer to re trade me. To what they offer I will then have to decide if I want to stay in.

I think this answers your question.

Thanks for your comments and donations.

A big thank you as well to everyone that has donated so far!!!

There's a few bucks coming in from down under.

Good luck mate both with the imediate challenge and in the long term.

If they can't keep you in it's a disgrace in my opinion. There a plenty of amputeed squadies still serving, I don't think it should be any different for you.

FFS losing an arm didn't hurt Nelson's career either, if you want to stay in mate fight the bast@rds all the way. Of course they might actually want you to stay.

Its great to hear your on the road to recovery :)

the difference between ordinary and extraoridnary, is just that little extra- your showing you have that extra bit so crack on mate- your doing an awesome thing!

Hi everyone.

I would just like to say a big thankyou to all at the goat. To everyone that has donated so far and for all those of you that are thinking about it. I have just reached my first milestone and have collected 25% of my target.

Cheers Jon

I see the pot is up to £660 sheets, thanks in no small part to the membership of the goat.

Remeber dudes, this guy is one of us and lost him arm doing the biz on ops! It could have been any of us, at least those of us who aren't desert dodging scum.

Some more sponds coming from this end too mate - you're a brave bloke, Jon & like everyone else here, I take my hat off to you!

All the best,

Stig
