Hi all.

I set my justgiving web page up on the 6th of March and today I have reached my £2000 target, £0-£2000 in 10 days!!!!! That is incredible, I owe it to all that have donated and supported me in this quest. I know from speaking to people that I still have more to come, so now I have reached my target anything extra is a bonus.

Thank you all and please keep donating, I still have until the 26th July where I can except donations. If you have not donated but were going to, please do not think that because I have met my target then there is no point in donating!!!

Thanks once again

Jon

Can you not go onto your site and revise your target? I would double it if I were you...

I have changed my target now and I think we can achieve this as well!! The new target is £4000, so lets try for that.

Posters available if people would like them....

Nearly up to £3000. Not long now till the ride, hope the training's going well Jon.

Hi

As of today I have received £3,557 in donations, I know I have at least another £500 to come. My target is easily going to be smashed. My training is going ok, I am using the bikes in the gym as I have yet to get a bike sorted. I have applied to the Benevolent fund and I am just waiting for a decision on that. This means training is really boring at the moment, I just want to get out there on a bike.

Not long till the event now........42 days and counting!!!!!!

Not looked in for a while and am so glad to see you're doing so well with the donations,

also thanks to Downsizer for the poster, will be going up in work as soon as I get back in the office hope to add more to the fund

good luck for the trip/ride and all the best for the future

(( Message for the Mods, can we not get this as a sticky to keep it in view?? ))

Good effort mate, glad to see your going to make your target.

Good drills to everyone who has donated too - the power of the Goat!

Hi all.

A quick status update. I have reached my new target of £4000, a big help from two very large donations pushed it over. I know that from my unit and my family and friends, I can expect to get another £1000 or so. I have now increased my target ever so slightly, giving the chance for others to contribute to this cause.

I never expected to get this much response so quicky, so my thanks goes out to all that have sponsored me.

Thank you

Jon

No not yet!!! The benevolent fund should be looking at my application next week, so fingers crossed they will approve the grant and I can practice out on the road. I should get the bike at the start of may, if they approve the grant!!

Even if they decline the grant, I will still be doing the ride, either I will purchase the bike myself or I will do it on a tandem.

I'll keep you posted.

Jon

I'm pretty confident he won't mind at all....

Thanks for printing off posters and putting them up. I won't mind in the slightest if you want to do a gate collection!!!!!

Thanks for your help.

Jon, did you get your bike?

Heard the mob is trying to avoid medically discharging people, due to cost of med pensions etc. and instead trying to return injured guys to the workforce. Any truth in this from where you're standing?
