Brothers, Words cannot explain the feelings throughout 1 Sqn at this sad time. Our most sincere thanks go out to you all for your kind words. In true RAF Regt tradition the Sqn has consolidated our position, and we are now back out on task fully operational, determined that the loss of our commrades will not be in vain. The fatalites were a result of an Indirect Fire Attack. The actions of the remainding Sqn personnel, medics and fire fighters were heroic and many more lives would have been lost without their selfless, blind disregard for personnel safety and determination to help others. Our fallen were: SAC Caulwell (A/Cpl B Flt 1 Sqn RAF Regt) SAC Mcferran (B Flt 1 Sqn RAF Regt) SAC Dunsmore (504/2504 Sqn RauxAFRegt Atts to B Flt 1 Sqn) The Eulogies to the lads, written by the Sqn are onthe MOD website. Our thoughts are also with the family of our dear departed brothers, and with 1 Sqn lads still receiving medical care, get well soon lads.

Our lost friends are not dead, but gone before,
Advanced a stage or two upon that road
Which we must travel in the steps they trod.

Adapted from Aristophanes.

R.I.P. guys.

Good luck to all the folks of all services on Ops, keep safe.

Words alone can not express my wishes and condolences to the families, friends and collueges. As a gunner's wife I know that the news has struck hard in this small close knit family.
To the injured, both phisically and mentally and to the comrades stand tall and stay strong, some close friends of mine will be there to take the burden from you soon and I send my love with them.

Thoughts and sympathies to all the families and comrades of these brave young men. To those that remain, look after each other after all, we're all brothers.

My sincerst condolences and heartfelt thoughts are with the families of the men that gave the ultimate sacrifice and to those recovering from the injuries they have sustained during this attack.

Harry B'Stard quoting the Kohima Epitaph seems fitting for these brave young men.

They shall not grow old,
As we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning
We will remember them.

RIP fellas, you will be missed but never forgotten.
