To make along story short I had a compassionate discharge kicked out this week, to say I am horrified its an understatement but I am wanting to know what ap or jsp is used for the guidance with regards to the compiling of the casework?
I think PSF have royally mucked it up with ill-informed advice and I need to now go forward with an appeal. I have the support from psychologists/doctors/peri natal/gp's/ and saafa and have written to support my case.

Also does anyone know who at manning/command make their decisions and how they are made.

I have done 10 years, done all my dets/guard/fitness tests/lastminute.com's etc. But at my time of need a big fat 2 fingers were put up at me and with the door goes behind me..........shame my problem doesn't stop that easy!

not that simple, its a more complex situation, and for the life of me I can not find the ap/jsp on the internent to read up over the weekend!

ok, clearly your not actually reading the information, do you know the jsp/ap regarding compassionate paperwork?

or i can can guess your next response, "put cocaine on the bosses desk>" simples!!!!

I think people are actually trying to be helpful, you can get out mucho rapid these days without going the compassionate route.

Is there a benefit to getting out that way rather than PVRing?

Sorry, I had a look for the JSP but not online as far as I could see.

I take it you've been to see the padre? I had a good route around the t'interweb but there is nowt on discharges although they may come under QR's...

any genuine responses would be most appreciated, i am not looking for very obivious solutions which I have already thought about in great length, just the JSP/AP regarding the framework and guidelines used in compassionate discharge. This has been a sressfull time for myself and m wife and children.

And saltyhelmet please can you understand that your comments are the exact opposite to what I am looking for and if I wanted crap advice I would head back to my psf. You have over 4000+ posts, i hope you don't waste other peoples posts like you have with mine...... and a moderator???!!!!! really, clearly being a moderator requires A level of intelligence/intergrity/importance.

I have used SAAFA who have done home visits etc, as I was told there reports carry a lot of weight.(there report fully supported my case)
I only found out the decision yesterday and have been left in an awful situation by the raf.
I have had a look at palimentry publications, mod website etc to no avail. I can get someone to get the information on monday but just wanted to have a read and see what the gen was.
Thanks monobrow, any gen is appreciated!

well john, a phone call and a pray to the padre on monday morning first thing!

Helped me out many moons ago, and I'm not a God botherer. The guy's there for welfare and guidance without any axes to grind. And he's got a big telephone hotline to the big yin (allegedly).

Why are you so dead set on a ompassionate discharge? Not an admin discharge or PVR... Got to say, Ive never really heard of a compassionate discharge....

It may actually help if you explain with a few more details. The info you provided has been quite vague.

What was your rationale to seek compassionate discharge in the first place?

if you read my post the information i need it the ap/jsp about discharge and how command come to their decision.

i would tell the story, but due to the nature of the it would be wrong......but i will say these words, wife and serious mental health.

I vaguely understand your frustration, but surely if you're so desperate to get out and your chosen route is closed to you, then one of the alternatives already suggested is a viable option. Sometimes in life we all have to take an alternative option. The folk that made those suggestions are, IMHO, just trying to help by giving you alternatives that you hadn't mentioned you'd thought of in your original post.

I'd be surprised if the info you want is freely available on the internet, so looking on the intranet on Monday may be the way forward. As well as the Padre, make an appointment and have a chat with the Chief Clerk (you might get the Deputy Chief Clerk though, but it's a start) and asking him/her to explain the procedure - as well as giving you the reference to the regulations appertaining to compassionate release - might help give you direction to your future actions.
