Ive heard a rumour that there may not be a board sitting this year?

Ive asked around and heard a few different things, anyone got any idea?
 
Had heard something similar but find it hard to believe, however the way things are at the moment who knows?
 
They'll have to promote one of you coz I'm out in August.

I've heard the same rumour that there maybe no promotion next year while the numbers all settle down. But AD is right, it's much more likely to just have much smaller numbers on the board rather than scrap promotion completely.
 
Im certain there still will be an officers board and another 5000 officers moving up the rank structure with NY homours and all that , yet when it comes to the boys , shafted yet again

Pretty sure that there will be a board.

Whether it will result in anyone being promoted from it is another matter!

They are after a non specialist member to sit on the board, end of May for about 2 weeks I think so would think another 100 target for them to read for again, which will get cut a few weeks after once getting everyones hopes up?
Who knows how they work it. Maybe it would save a few quid ( and man hours) to bin this board and use those still waiting off last years?

As nice as that may be for those still waiting off last years, I can see a large amount of crying from some of those hoping this year is their year!

I can see a lot more crying comming from those that thought this year was their year, or last year or even the 3 years before. maybe a little less crying and a few more PVR's or a lack of interest in trying.
Those who may cry if they were hoping for next year may be better getting some more time in?

Im quite sure the numbers will change but the dates and quota for the next board are up on the manning website.

31st May - 16th June with a quota of 75!!!!!!
 
Will be interesting to see what happens - look what happened to the SAC board. Quota of 97, rumour mill in overdrive that it won't reach 45. No official word from manning, as usual, (although I checked last week so may have changed).
 
I had a look on the MOD DASA statistics site today and was very surprised at some of the numbers for the trade on there!

TG4 will be losing 13% of its FS/WO strength by April, about 40 if i remember rightly.

So if the Seniors board sitting next week is going to promote anywhere near that (Sgt-FS), that means spaces for Cpls to step up.

Very interesting stats, worth a look on the site. Dont know the link off hand I just put it into the MOD search engine.

Nothing new has appeared on the Manning website I look at!!!!! Just the old 2008 and 2009 ones??????

I initially couldn't find it either. However, although it isn't mentioned in the Feb bulletin or the promotions spreadsheet, it does appear in the updated promotion board schedule document.

Why do they do this. Cut one years then seem to come up with a big figure for the next year?

Quota was 100+ last year and as far as I know they are about number 70 with maybe 10 more to go? Yet they now say they need 75 for next year.

Do we know how many they want for FS? I know they cut last years a lot.

We still have 2 months fingers crossed?
 
i am just gonna buy me a ticket for this years promotion lottery and see what happens !
