CPL - SGT Board 2011

I've heard that the quota's are actually calculated 15 months before the board sits, so in this fast changing climate we find ourselves in they really should be taken with a pinch of salt. Saying that I know a lot of SNCO's who have left or are about to leave the force this year which will hopefully leave some gaps so that some of us can get a look in. Can't see it reaching the quota of 75 though.
 
I wonder how many non-locking trained techies & peanuts will get picked up this year. One things for sure, if I get picked up this year i'm gonna start playing the national lottery, if not the redundancy calculator was a pleasant surprise.

Just got one thing to say on the 2010 post (come on this cause other is closed) is manning our f$£*in c*%tS. How can they stop at 80 and already require 75 for next year. Good luck to all those on 2011 board cos its all bollox. Messing with peoples lives. Interesting to see how many earn it off the three year rule!!! and how many have not done a proper ops tour, and of course how many permenant sickies manage to get thru the system. (as you can tell I came a gnats chuff and i am seriously ****ed off!!!) dont need redundancy in TG4, just keep ****ing us around. SNAFU!!!

I would go at the drop of the hat! I could be packed within a week if they need me overseas and I could be at the home of the Typhoon within the hour.

In theory are they having to wait 5 months before filling the 10 FS slots released off the board last month? or is that were the last 10 went.

Interesting point! I had a quick eyes on of the list when I was given the well done speech, I know at least ten of the 22 were ex TG3 and thats just the ones i've met over the years, feck knows how many of the others were!

I also heard about that need for TG3 Sgts 2 years ago and the bod who told me said they were even thinking of doing extra boards for it!!!

Ex-Locking, Ex- TG3, tech Cpls really are the last true minority, maybe we should all get together and sue the RAF for discrimination like the homos and preggos did in the 90s'

Never heard of the trade expert on the board? if they are IT/ex 11 of course there going to put their slant on it.
Do you think if the pre board has selected 80 slots becoming vacant in the next year that they are not trade specfic (as no ex 11 are ever going to be eligible for 4001, what would happen if the first 80 were ex 11). Therefore alot of tg3 slots are being gapped unnecessary.

From what I understand the pre boarders are not our tradesmen, they are just a group of people who read every trades SJARS and rank them accordingly. They do not have a say in our trade vacancys nor do they have any knowledge of them. They just read and rank.

And yes i do know that we have a trade expert on the board but again correct me if i am wrong that person will only be a WO tradesman if the board is for SAC's. Anything higher and it will be an engineering officer. So as long as he or she is not an ex ranker there should and I say only should not be any bias.

If their are slots for Ex 3's only then Ex 3's will be picked up first regardless if an 11 is a place or two higher on the list. Likewise if the job is better suited to a candidate with certain Q's and they happen to be an ex 11 then they would get the slot first.

I'm not for a 3 and 11 divide cos my experience is they've never merged(and theres even rumour of splitting again). I just feel theres alot of peoples lives messed around (both sides) over a stupid idea thatt should never have happened.

Its only a myth (or a legend) depending which side of the fence you are looking from.

Mate your confusing two things here, promotion board and manning desk.

The promotion board (including expert) takes the pre selected number of A grades from the pre board list. This number is determined by the amount of slots are expected to be coming up next year x2 + about 10% usually. They then read the SJARs and assemble the PSL (promotion selection list). The PSL is then passed to the manning desk, who then use it to put guys into slots.
The board does not know what the slots are or what the trade tags set against them are. Only the manning desk knows that.

They will never divide again, what are you going to do with the Abinitios? divvy them up?

The only reason it seems that they have never merged is people like you persisting in keeping the divide alive.
