So we're under way and day 2 delivers a pretty big upset...

Can't be many people who would take the Danes over the Dutch, makes tonights Germany/Portugal even more interesting....

It's great having this football on without having to shell out for sky too...:PDT_Xtremez_31:

This result has really messed up my works football predictions syndicate!

It's a sign of the times when we are sat in the UK watching Holland on our terrestrial TV at prime time Saturday evening when England and playing 2 sports on pay per view [Sky]...

Are they???

Joking aside, it's a shocking state of affairs. All home nations sport should be free to view IMO.

Enjoyed all the games so far. Even the 15min opening ceremony wasn't bad, mainly because it was 15min.
Old Arry called it in the BBC studio saying he didn't expect Holland to go through. A draw tonight won't do them to much harm though.

Germans are looking tasty at the minute on current form.... And it looks as though RVP is a big tournament choker!

Well, my nails are bit to buggery! Thought the England/Sweden match went well in the end but FFS, why do they always somewhat step back when leading at 1-0.

Seriously, even winning at 3-2 with ten minutes left on the clock, They still need to get that 2 goal lead to calm one's bl00dy nerves.

I hate being an England follower!

That was a good result that should have been less difficult than England made it; Mellberg doesn't score for his country and yet popped up unmarked for one and forced an own goal for the other.
At least the massiviely over-rated Ibrahimovich is going bye bye.

Need more than that in my veiw, Seen England throw away a 2 goal lead more than once!!!!

England wont win a major tournament unless they can sort out the fundamental errors that cause them to throw away two goal leads.
Ball retention is not good enough, you wont beat the likes of Spain without the ball. Theres not enough movement and so passing options are limited resulting in long balls that gift it to the opposition.
Sitting off the opposition when they have the ball, not pressing high enough up the pitch.
The biggie though is lack of belief, nerves that lead to mistakes and individual errors caused by lapses in concentrstion.

Isn't this the fall down of the England team strategy? Score a goal, get in the lead, and then sit back and wait for the opposition to come back at them. They need to score, and then keep the pressure up.

Ball retention is THE major problem our national team faces currently. In most positions in a conventional 4-4-2 we have quality on the ball, the main exception being crucially - central midfield. Jack Wilshere is the future undoubtedly, Henderson has potential but those 2 apart we are so lacking in the creativity department it is scary. In the last few years we seem to have decided as a nation that the most important feature of a central midfielder is to run around like a headless chicken "breaking up" play. Spain and Germany will rip us a new ******** should we be so fortunate to make the latter stages.

Overall a resilient performance, they did well to come back and go for the win after throwing away the lead.
Good to see Gerrard get forward and nearly make it 4.
Just keep up the good work!

England are still coming up for some heavy criticism even though they won...Just because we aren't doing it in the style of Brazil et al doesn't mean you can't go all the way! Do we think the Greeks back on 2004 expected to win the Euro's? I'll wager after each victory they were saying 'fackademe...we wins again cor blimey innit'.

We all saw how Chelsea did in it in the champions League after all...

So, Denmark's Niklas Bendtner gets fined £80,000 and given a one match ban for unauthorised advertising, whilst the whole Russian FA is fined £120,000 and given a suspended 6 point deduction for fan violence :PDT_Xtremez_35:

Glad to see UEFA have got their priorities sorted.

Uefa and FIFA are a bunch of incompetent and corrupt cnuts. Standby for the FA punishment for fans celebrating on the running track. I fully expect disqual from this comp and a significant points deduction for the 2014 quals.

PSBM one act offends their rich global corporate sponsors wallets and the other could merely hospitalise a large number of people with an outside chance of death. It doesn't matter if they stop the Russians coming to the party next time but it directly affects the number of prawn sandwiches on offer at FIFA gatherings if Macdonalds or Kia don't show up. Sep Blatter and his acolyte Platini sold football's soul long ago. Qatar 2020 anyone.

I can honestly say that, even before the tournament started, I knew this was going to be the toughest match England will play in the group. Ukraine are looking really tasty. There's goals to come I reckon, but I can't guess who'll have the edge.

Well, well, well. The ball going clearly across England's goal line was not given as such. WTF is THAT official on the by-line is for then?

At least we got a break (for once) after all the decisions that went against England. It also proves that goal line tech is so desperately required for the game.

Sepp Blatter et al must be taking a pensioners nap right now!
