Sorry to sour the day, but who in TG18 can really say they deserve to be on a higher pay band? I will suggest one group of individuals who endure a harsher more dangerous life style than the rest- TSW, and they probably deserve it, but for the rest of us counting out nuts and bolts and sweeping up R&D, get in the real world of harsh economics circa 2009.

Speak for yourself, I know that there is a hell of a lot more going on in the Supply world than just counting nuts and bolts etc etc. Even in an R&D environment there is a great deal of responsibility, especially at the lower end of the rank spectrum on duty crew. Your comments do little to show the rest of the air force or the likes of the JSJET team what Supply actually does. Are you a Supplier? If so I sincerely hope you were not one of the ones selected for interview by JSJET.

Speak for yourself there mate. You may well be a loafer who cant really be arsed to make an effort at work and quite happy to sit in tech stores doing the bare minimal however most of the suppliers I know work bloody hard and are quite happy to take alot of responsability on. Especially now in 2009 where the trade is so much smaller and SAC's have to take on work that only 5 to 10 years ago would have been done by a Cpl.

Off TopicI put in a claim yesterday for a travel warrant which on JPA then has to be processed by a scribbly up in our PSF, then once he has done his actioning JPA pays me. I popped onto JPA this am to check it was being paid and there was no sign of my claim. So I ring my clerk in PSF who says that he is the guy who would action my claims and he never saw one. Thankfully my claim was being audited so I managed to find it that way..... funnily enough he remembers the claim then but had accidentally closed it!! He's on higher pay band!!! How hard is his job????Off Topic

I'm not meaning to bash scribblies I'm happy for anyone to get on the higher pay band if they can, just making a point!!

Lets face it, its was never about the job and we all know it...im not gonna bash them either but its funny how the trades with the long term manning problems suddenly found themselves with an incentive..

Our manning in our trade, from looking on the manning website is down to around 80%, has been falling that way for a while.

I think the deficit was around 167 persons. I'm sure the rock's got thier incentives when thier trade fell below 86%. But im sure the powers that be will be closing posts to bring the % back up, never mind all the Supply Sqn's having to work and stretch ourselfs just the bit more again, how many years has thay been going on for!

So as to numb nuts comments before about just counting nuts and bolts is totally rubbish, obviously he's, if he is a supplier, is not in the real world or has any real ambition.:PDT_Xtremez_25:

Armourers are at 80% manning....so are many other trades...your argument applies across the board. Manning is no argument for up-banding.

I think it does matter. Supply already gave up somewhere in the region of 130 "gapped" slots a couple of years back to get it back to 100% and here we are again back down in the 80's...it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out each one of us are now doing the work of 3-4 people. Techie trades (certainly the ones on a certain JHC unit) are sitting at 113% manned and still the suppliers pick up the extra workloads of SGF for instance as the techies are far to valuable to use for duties.

The argument of us being one of the bigger trades has now long gone so that cannot be an excuse for not up-banding. Supply/Logistics is well paid on civvy street, it's just never been acknowledged in the service.

On the upside, I hear all the supply recruit courses are full for the next twelve months but the experience lost from people leaving will take a long time to recover from.

The post from 441staines re TG18 not deserving upbanding is clearly from someone who does not work in the Supply world!! If they do...WTF!!!

TROLL! Ignore this pianist! :PDT_Xtremez_32:

Correct me if i'm wrong but are'nt the Army and Navy stackers on the higher pay band?

I'm not sure about the Navy, but I believe our smelly green bretheren have recently been downgraded back to the lower band. Hey ho, at least soon we will be in a unique position i.e the only trade left on the lower band!!!

A friend of mine is a WO2 ‘Loggy’ in the Army, I see him every week for a beer or two, he has not mentioned being down-banded, this I am sure would be something he would bring up because he knows our situation and interest!

If I may… my opinion is this…
We should just sit tight and wait until we have some concrete info, all this rumouring is not helping. I can understand where it comes from… people think they have a ‘hot’ bit of gossip but cannot, and do not, wait to get it verified, they go to print anyway with scant regard for the fallout.

Maybe there is just no point in discussing this until we have facts, hard provable facts! When we have the facts, then maybe we can debate/argue over the "why's & why-not's"

Anyway, just a though…

My first post in this forum. I would obviously like to see suppliers move up to the higher pay band, however I can see no justification for this other than the fact that other 'non techy' trades have been rebanded. I am not a tech and have always been happy with my pay based on the fact this was how is it was always going to be.
Things have now changed, other trades have been rebanded, in my opinion wrongly. Do I think we as a trade deserve a higher grading, in the current climate in comparison with those other trades that have been reassessed, then yes I do.
I am more than happy to wait for the offical response to make the light of day, before I go out and spend that extra money or post here again about how unfair life is!!:PDT_Xtremez_25:

You will all be finding out very shortly, 'officially' that Supply are not moving up a pay scale as I have previously posted.

I accept some of you are cynical and are awaiting for the official response, but this is the case - no pay rise.

441Staines may have a point - do Supply deserve to go up?

I'm very intrigued about the information you possess. On the contrary, I received an email yesterday stating that the matter of TG18(logs) pay review is currently being pressed by the HoB.

So if you are aware and the HoB isn't, then that tells me and the rest of the TG that you have access to knowledge from people beyond his position.

I'll await your PM.

Dont bite mate, methinks him and 441 staines are on a wee fishing for a bitetrip!!!

Will somebody please put us out of our misery.

Its like water tourture not knowing, (but pessamisticaly expecting nothing).

At the end of the day all we deserve is an answer in this lifetime.

You sir are a cock.
Done loads of digging and I will once again confirm that no decision has been made. Even more disappointing another unspecified delay as this will effect 10/11 so no need to rush. However, whole pay scale thing is being called into question.

This is not rumour but well placed horses mouth. Stacker Wobblies of on a conference later this month so wait out!!!

Oh my god. I often have a little look at these pages, just for fun, to see how the trade is going. I just can't believe that so many people can be sucked into these kind of discusions. Come on surley no one out there really believes that such a thing would happen. Janto get a grip at stop trying to be the mouthpiece for all. I support a bit of nonsence as this should be, but don't get those gulible Stackers hopes up, it ain't hapening.
