Higher Pay Band?

If I remember correctly, we scored the same as the scribblies, therefore in the 'discressionary zone'. I think that is why our decision is taking as long as it is. The justification draft was passed to AVM W***s some time ago, however the 'information highway' has gridlocked, so no news has appeared.

The squippers had a higher score so justifiable learnt of their rise very quickly. Our case on the other hand involves more personnel and therefore more money. That equates a BIG decision by someone.

Cpl's and above is my best guess, should we get it!

Aaaarr, I never realised we or the shiney’s were in a ‘Discretionary Zone’, that will explain the time delay. In that case, although I agree with you about Cpl’s n’above if we went up, I think we have more chance of platting lightning.
It’s the same old chestnut “there are just too many of us” that will come into effect here… me thinks!

Oh well, that was my last one before I am out, oh bugger! (Doom & gloom, ha ha!)

Anyway, just a thought…

How can the above be justified if the door slammers are already in the higher wage bracket. Surely, their are just as many in this TG?

The 'Door Slammers' only got Cpl & WO so we could well be looking at similar certain ranks decison which would save the penny pinchers some money, which ranks they choose would be an interesting one but don't think the SAC's will be hearing any good news soon, thst's if the rest of us don't hear anything either...

If its decided that JNCOs in TG18 go up to the high pay band then the trade is dead IMO, just like TG6. :PDT_Xtremez_42:

It's hard enough trying to get people to accept promotion to SNCO these days with the measly pay increase & the obligatory posting.

I honestly believe that if Sgt's were to receive the increase then it would re-energise the trade and focus the JNCOs accordingly.

Failure to recognise TG18 (Logs) this time around will impact rather heavily on the trade; PVR's go in at Sgt rank (I know of six individuals waiting out!!) - manning disestablish their posts (Largely due to Continued Service x 45 Cpls), manning now set at NEW 100% :PDT_Xtremez_06: reduced promotion prospects and a bottle neck for advancement.

Need I go on....rant over.....back on the prozac in time for the weekend.

I am on continued service and now the manning has been reset at 100% I can see the service initiating the "6 months notice of termination of service" which is part of the terms of continued service.

At least it will open up an JNCO slot.

RSB, I hope you didn't misinterpret my post. I wasn't having a go at those who were fortunate to receive the extension however, I think there has been huge oversight at Manning.

The numbers/decision will deteriorate the opportunity for advancement in rank for several year to come unless, as you put it, they initiate the "6 months termination of service".

I won't hold my breath for the high pay band.

No Janto I understand that you wern't having a go. My feeling is that to free up some slots for promotion and to keep the natural career path going for people who have worked hard and are ready for advancement, particually as the SAC - Cpl quota has been reduced, the guys on continuance may not see out their extra time.

The additional three years were a bonus but will fully understand if I'm given my notice but leave with a heavy heart after 22+ years working with great people where ever I have been.

The shineys got their higher pay band in April so if we are in the 'Discretionary Zone' why haven't we heard anything.?
i heard we scored more than them so we should be in for a shout. we were told that it doesnt matter that there are a lot of us. you could be right about 'platting lightning' tho.

All will be revealed next week.

Heard today that an announcement is expected after the bank holiday.

Fingers Crossed, lets hope its good news. If not the exit door will re-open with a crash as a few have been hanging on in hope.

Bad news I am afraid - no rank is going up a pay scale.

Very hard to accept, there will be a lot of disappointed people out there.
Supply have lost out again.

Official signals will be out shortly but you heard it here first.

I guess we'll wait for the official signals, shame really, supply work bloody hard in a lot of posts, with the shinneys getting the higher band do we feel less valued?

Ofcourse not to belittle any of the shinneys, but our own work extremly hard, very short of manpower and also in some very hospitible places.

That is of course if you are a credible source.... 1st post to confirm something my flt cdrs haven't even heard about... smells a bit fishy to me!!!

Not that I'd be suprised if your right I hasten to add. With todays climate they will be saving alot of money by not dishing it out and lets face it who is really going to PVR because of it?????

And you are? Funny how someone we have never heard of before, on their first post, tells the whole trade that no one is going up! It may well be true but lets see what the legit signal/fax/letter etc says eh!

Its all speculation and with no credible source it gets filed in B1N.

I'll await the official outcome via our Wg WO. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

True or not ..... if I was a betting man I know what outcome i'd be backing!!

Fan the flames!!

Fan the flames!!

If this 'rumour' is true will it impact on the Warrants, who were previously High Pay band but went back in the mix when the trade was reviewed?

I think we should just wait and see what the OFFICIAL WORD is. The trade sponsor is due at RAF 'Heart of the Fens' soon so a number of us might just get the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

:PDT_Xtremez_42:PS If the Warrants do go down it might help promotion!! (standing back with fire Ext to hand!):PDT_Xtremez_42:

No hope

No hope

Sorry to sour the day, but who in TG18 can really say they deserve to be on a higher pay band? I will suggest one group of individuals who endure a harsher more dangerous life style than the rest- TSW, and they probably deserve it, but for the rest of us counting out nuts and bolts and sweeping up R&D, get in the real world of harsh economics circa 2009.
