Sadly not many left. At the secret wilts airbase there was one who was set to see out his 22 with no further career progression. It seems that tranche 3 put paid to that.

The redundancies got him promoted? or he got a redundancy as a JT?

I'm signed on until 2019 and after the kick in the balls that was the last promotion board I'm almost tempted to hang around just to see how much of an admin burden i can be by virtue of rank alone!

I am seriously wondering if I could be the last JT in the air force if i was to serve the rest of my engagement - anyone know of a JT signed on to past 2019?

few and far between

6 on my Sqn, myself included, and two of those are waiting on tapes, (myself not included!). As the numbers become less we are thinking of starting a revolution!! Any other Junior Magicians up for it?

No cheverons for said chap, just a payout (if accepted) then the ultimate promotion. He was happy as larry when I last spoke to him.

Thinking of keeping my old rank slides just in case I get busted down. Still an Eng Tech at the mo, don't do cross dressing.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Wokka

Could be worth a try, may fail though if he was cross dressed. It seems to take the Eng Tech away now they have the new trade title of ATM. (sounds almost pornographic)

Step into my office and I will see what I can do. On second thoughts I don't think it would work. How is work at the moment anyway, haven't seen your neanderthal hide around for a while. You escaped?

Its depressing when you have to deal with PSF (or whatever the feck they are called now) and they look at you like youve got two heads when you say youre a JT and they say "I thought you guys had been phased out, it only has SAC and SAC(T) on my computer/forms"....does that mean i can go home?

So 22 years from 2019 means you joined in 1997, and got signed on to 22, sounds like bollox to me.

and?

i thought the thread was about the dying breed of JTs.

Why would i possibly want to invent the date i leave the service? (11th August 2019 if you're interested)

Thats a good question, I just wasn't aware of any JT's of that era being offered engagements to 22 yrs, and I was very interested in that subject as I nearly ended up out on my arse prior to promotion, so your dates smell a bit fishy thats all.

i only managed to get signed on for 22 on the basis of an RAF admin cock-up. But since the form was signed it's a little late for them to go back on it :D

(No chance of them signing me on for being good - if they thought that they'd have bloody promoted me....)
