Is Ukraine about to get messy?

Amid concerns that Russian troops are positioned along the border of Ukraine, is it about to get messy?

While the West wobbles over the threat of a nuclear detonation over the Black Sea,
I always knew that my blot, bang, rub, lie face down on your belly, whilst holding your nuts, training may one day be needed

They are also evacuating Kherson. They are pooing their pants.
Sounds like alongside evacuating civvies, they are also going to have a major withdrawal of their military in that area. Retreat because they are beaten or removing collateral before using a tactical bucket of sunshine to annihilate the Ukranian Army in that region?

Sadly I fear they are moving out for the latter reason. Get your own folks out then make the area uninhabitable for a few hundred years. Putin is sadly and very, very possibly that crazy, he's in little kid mode if you won't let me play with it I'm going to break it so no one else can.

Russian counter claim it was a Ukrainian missile.

"Russian state media are already hinting that it was in fact Ukrainian, and not Russian, missiles that hit Polish territory. These allegations are unsubstantiated. State news agency Ria Novosti quoted a Russian "military expert" who claimed that Russian cruise missiles “would not have been able to reach Polish territory, but Ukrainian S-300 [surface-to-air] missile systems, functioning abnormally, could”.

If nothing else, at least no one will give a shit anymore if Trump decides to announce a presidential bid today.

The moral of this story…never believe the media. Very soon after it appeared in the media, the Mrs exclaimed that the Russkis had launched missiles against Poland….my response was …wait and see what really happened..

patriot missiles "couldnt accidently shoot aircraft down"

pretty sure that wasnt true ?

maybe considering where it happened theres an element of truth here, sometimes stuff goes wrong and you cant blame others (as much as you want to)

Likely scenario.

Russians throw missiles at Ukraine,

Ukraine throw missiles at Russian missiles,

Missiles hit one another. Anti-missile successful.

Pile of busted up missiles falls on wrong side of Polish border.

Media pisses it's pants, spreading panic a fear as usual.

Intelligence services gather the truth, tell world leaders. Media forget to spread calm.

However, after all that, it's ultimately Russian aggression to blame for the Polish deaths. No Russian missiles fired etc...

Yet another wealthy Russina has "accidently" fallen out of an hotel window. Becoming damn dangerous things hotel windows if your a millionaire Russian oligarch. There must have been a dozen or so unfortunate "accidents" involving Russian business men who haven't loudly supported Mad Vlad's war

On December 25 General Alexei Maslov, 69, former commander of Russian ground forces with close ties to Ukraine, died 'suddenly'
Last week the inventor of 'world's best' Angara rockets Vladimir Nesterov died aged 74. Nosterov's loss followed the 'sudden death' of Alexander Buzakov 65, director general of Admiralty Shipyards, in charge of building new submarines. Buzakov had been healthy the day before he died, and 'nothing had been heard about Maslov's health problems' before he died.

Now a fourth defence offical has "unexpectedly" died.

Lots of tanks soon to be supplied to Ukraine, it reads well on the TV news feeds and for the man in the street. However I'm not sure having a mixed fleet from numerous countries is a good thing there might be 80 tanks or so but if its 20 of this and 20 of that differing models from different countries then surely it becomes an engineering and logistics jigsaw puzzle for spares, crews and ammunition etc. It was bad enough being on the same fleet with differing Mod states never mind dealing with completely different sorts of machine. Thoughts

Also we'll likely send them the ones we don't want as well....the complete sheds that always go U/S on being eyeballed or that have had crashes and been patched up.

They're likely still in better nick than the opposition's though...

Almost certainly the ones they wouldn't have earmarked for the Ch3 upgrade so that speaks volumes.
