Any goaters in the know as to when the result of our pay banding board will be announced? AMP played the question with a very good forward defensive during his recent visit to our unit!

It was a bit galling to be sat next to a Naval PO Writer when the question was asked and see a smirk from ear to ear across his highly-paid face!:raf:
 
Not heard any dates, but I hear rumours that Cpl & Sgt will move to High band. Could be horsesh!t of course ......

I have heard that rumour as well but I have also heard that our pay review has been delayed yet again so that a tri-Service review can be done. Who knows? Now that FLWO is FLFltLt I would hope to hear something positive - or at least definite.

What's changed since the last review that could justify a jump.

Nothing, and don't forget we've had retention worse than it is today in the past, and we didn't go up a band then.

Under pay 2000 a top level Cpl now gets paid more than a Sgt would have done in the old days, and I have taken into account inflation.

Although if we do go up to the higher band I'll regret staying on the old pension scheme.

add to that there would be an all out revolt amongst the techies, the real ones i mean not the rubbish ones like tg4
 
I would love to think of us getting shifted up, but would be personally surprised if we did. I know that a certain Wobbly Orange did make sure that all personnel that were interviewed made sure not to downplay any role that is undertaken by TG17

Please get your facts correct. REAL Techies in TG4 are EX-TG3. Rubbish ones on HIGH PAY BAND (cough!!) are EX-TG11.

PS Good luck with your Pay review though!!!! Most Adminers I have seen work Balls out on Units and should get the PAY for the LARGE workload they have!!!!

JPA can never replace a Person in the KNOW!!!!
 
What I am hearing is that the Higher/Lower pay bands will be abolished and one pay spine created to potentially include 75 levels. Can't back rumour with fact tho. That aside, whilst I would love to see us get a higher pay band, and despite knowing how hard we work, I cannot think of any single mitagating factor or over-riding argument which would win the day. As for the suggestion that Cpl/Sgt should be on a higher pay band than the rest of us (and I standby to recieve hate mail) - thats pants. Besides that, the cynic in me suggests that the introduction of the enhanced retention bonus will cost so much that we'll barely be able to afford to buy spares for the kites, never mind upbanding the trade!

Well I sincerely hope something changes, we really cant keep going on with the current unfair system.
 
I for one would be furious if the higher pay band only went to cpls and sgts, I think us SACs also deserve it. I have never received one days training on JPA and am expected to know all about it, as are the rest of us, and we dont do any less work than the higher ranks in the trade.
 
There is a 2 week course that has been running since January that you could get on - spk to your JNCO/SNCO and get yourself on it if you feel so hard done by.
