I have been reading this thread for a while and find it quite interesting.I have just got back from lunch at Waddo's mess. Today they don't have hot water, OK, not their fault I say to myself.I walk to up to the servery and am presented with not a great selection. Some kind of pancake that looks like it has rusted over, some vegi rice thing, and a 3 egg omlette. On the 'premium' side, a sausage roll and something else I can't remember. Todays colour on the servery was mostly Yellow!OK I think to myself not great but I shall go for the last omlette. I'll have some peas and baked beans with it - yum. Shall I have some salad, um, I think I might. Oh wait a minute the salad bowl is empty again and hasn't been refilled; not the you can call lettuce leaves and onions a salad...I pay and sit down. The omlette is 'crispy' on the underside so I have OD'd on carbon for the day. Plus 'cos their's no hot water, I am forced to attempt eating with a plastic CAKE fork and knife.I would be happy to pay more for my core meals if the quality improved. And by quality I don't just mean the food, I also refer to the service.

I to was in this mess today and went for the Rusty Pancake as you put it. But the Quality won't improve until we as the customers start putting in constructive coments on the paper provided. what really annoys me is at duty supper served Monday - Thursday I have to pay £1.46 for a meal it's the same every week Omlette, chips and beans or chips beans and something random to go with them, I asked the bloke one night for a salad and got the most evil look ever also Friday - Sunday night you have to buy a pack-up and for around 2.49 it's cold it's cr*p and it's not really that filling. the ISS and the RAF don't care much for the troops

I have actually commented before in the mess, but got no reply in the book. I instead emailed ISS with my comments/observations. The response was basically a bunch of excuses on why the points I brought up are the way they are. Nothing changed.

We can moan all we like but until people act as a collective nothing will really change.

So I can live in of these HMP's for free and for life and get dome really nice grub yum yum sign me up, how do I go about that? haha. But yeah we have to right constructive comments and raise the points to the right people if enough of us speak then surely they would go back to the old ways.or they could just ignore us forever!!!
