Redundancy

I think if you are in right trade, ie. TG1 you are inline for reduncancy.

Pick a rank then a trade and start a rumour that they are favourites for redundancy. My guess for rank and trade FS chef who knows. Seriously there are cases to be made for lots of rank/trade variatons as the numerous threads on here will testify but in reality those that actually know aren't saying until Tuesday and those that don't know, me for example, are just guessing.

You could look at the manning website and see the figure of which trades are over manned. That may give you a good idea, but as the previous post said, i'd ignore it and wait and see, the amount of times i have seen manning play with those figures!

The first tranche has dropped from the rumoured 1000 to 850.

I heard they're looking to get rid of any movers with chips on their shoulders!!

Jesus it must be bad if they're planing to get rid of a whole trade group in a oner:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Surely most trades will lose someone but it all depends whether you are in the 'field'

3 year seniority is the figure I have heard from a friend of a friend of a friend.

I cannot wait, im just hoping so much I shall be in the chosen field. Tuesday is going to be a very happy day for a lot of people.

A much needed boost is needed for the troops and what better than a round of redundency :D

Although not one of the people clamouring for redundancy I can't help but wonder how many of the fields will be MASSIVELY over-subscribed?:PDT_Xtremez_30:

I do remember though after the last round of redundancies, looking at a report on the figures of those who had applied and how this looked as a percentage.

I do remember seeing one of the smaller trades needing ONE redundancy at an officer level (Wg Cdr IIRC). There were no applicants, but they'd made one redundant anyway.

Can you imagine being that person... being told that out of ALL your peers, you were considered to be the worst!:PDT_Xtremez_09:

So with the new DIN which is on the manning redundancy link I would like a 2nd (3rd, 4th) opinion on my interpretation.

Under 06 scheme I am not yet eligible for EDP but have done more than 18 years.

According to the DIN I am eligible for a tax free sum equivalent to 18x 1/8th of my final relevant earnings (pay after tax?) which i make to be 75k plus I believe I am entitled to a Resettlement Grant but I have no idea how much this is, any info gladly rec'd.

Thoughts?

I cba looking to see if you are correct with your calc, but ref the resettlement grant, you get it if you have done a minimum of 12 years and less than 22. It is approx £10,000, just over or under i can't remember.
