Redundancy

Interesting, cos my OC BSW still says it will be there in the morning.

However, if there's a delay till 4 Apr, will people still only have 2 weeks to apply, before the Redundancy boards sit on 16 Apr? Or will everyone still get 6 weeks to apply?

If there's a 1 month delay, unless they change the timelines, it means that no one will leave in this FY, which is exactly not what the Treasury wanted.

So what we are saying is its rumour. The Announcement will be made tommorow as the norm and we are all getting hyped up for no reason ?

Not according to the intranet at Marham.

But then others say it's business as usual. Interesting to see who the party men are....;)

Much like Gaddafi they are in total control of the state (or Air Force)...

My wife's mate's cleaner's dog told me it has more to do with the fact they still haven't finished writing the DIN. As of Friday afternoon it was 30 pages long and growing.

In other words, the delay is not a political decision in the usual sense.

LOL, at last Wed's Air Cmd brief, it was over 35 pages. Perhaps the cleaner's dog ate some pages :PDT_Xtremez_30:

I'd bet my life on it being delayed - Marham were told formally that it was the case, but it seems other Groups were a little slow on the information dissemination.

Just ****es me off as we have spent a long time calculating and doing sums, pensions pay offs and now any delays means we have to start over. I just want to plan my life and at least know if im eligible, at least tommorow would be a step forward as if I could not take the offer then I have to try find a base that will let me serve my last 2 years so I dont have to sell my house which I cant sell due to no decision made on RAF Lossiemouth, im stressed and I cant take much more of this, it makes me sick with worry and my missus is in tears with the unknown.

Make your ****ing mind up Government and stop messing us around

I'm pretty sure they must have been, to actually put it on their webpage. Funny how they're the only Unit to actually broadcast it though.

The notice is a quick one liner stating that "The RAF redundancy announcement has been postponed until further notice."

There is no indication of when that is or why.

It was also confirmed late on when we checked with Air Cmd and we were told we could publish to our intranet. Hence my willingness to wager my life!!

That's one freakin disjointed way of telling people. Do we ever learn.

We had an e-mail from the 1* late this PM saying that it was delayed due to awaiting Ministerial Approval. I suspect that it is Air Cmd jargon for we still haven't crossed the T's or dotted the I's yet but I don't think we'll have to wait too much longer. That said, Tommo's contacts are much better than mine!!

I wish we could find something solid out.... Over on the prune there's this...

''It's still on track for 1 Mar: The RAF Redundancy Programme Announcement is embargoed until the Written Ministerial Statement is presented at 1430hrs''.

So which one is it, a months delay or something to discuss at tea break tomorrow?

Could this not be the start of someone on high actually thinking about present world events and applying some future projection? surely if you were thinking of laying off your workforce and a massive order was waiting in the wings you may hang fire? :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Delayed?

Delayed?

Really hope it has not been delayed. Heard that my trade would have to had done 16 plus to qualify blah blah blah, just so fed up of hearing rumours? Why just for once can't the people upstairs keep their word?

No. It is the start of someone on high realising that the similar headlines of the addition of more additonal military action coupled with that of 850 redundancy letters being sent out makes the Govt look even more incompetent than it actually is, if this is indeed possible.

Its a sad inditement of the RAF today that we cant even get rid of people in the right way... what a joke this organisation has turned out to be.

What? Do you really believe that this new and improved government is capable of spin and media management? And there's me thinking those days were behind us!

Although now you mention it, another massive climb down/U turn wouldn't really help this fragile coalition. I'd suggest that they can't see the woods for the trees, only they can and they've already tried to get rid of them and had to change their minds. I wonder what's next, maybe it'll all come good and plastic pigs might fly, again....
