What was number one when you joined ?

the songs I remember most from Swinderby are ..................... on the video jukebox almost constantly.

It's funny isn't it, I don't remember the Beautiful South being number one in training. But I do remember hearing AC/DC "Heatseeker" constantly along with "Crazy" by Seal.
Those vid jukeboxes have a lot of memories to answer for!

When i first joined up (as a fish head) it was Cher "Do you Believe". and that Gym and Tonic song!
Oh happy days (apart from the chronic sea-sickness!)

But at the mow, im just going through the process of re-joining back up to the RAF! Wish me luck, god i cant wait.

The Number 1 single was:
David Essex - "Hold Me Close"

The Number 1 album was:

Now this was depressing

On 3rd Nov 1999 ...

What I remember most, music wise was Simon Mayo in the morning playing the same fecking song at the start of his programme, forget the title but started with 'This is Jam Hot'. Fecking after 6 weeks of that wanted to punch the cnuts head in and stamp on his bollox.

9 Jan 90 - New Kids On The Block - "Hangin' Tough"

Nothing Compares 2 U was a constant on MTV in the Newcomers, favourite block bull night album was Depeche Mode - 101, tape was nearly worn out by the time we passed out. Could put what you wanted on the tape player after work but when the Mode rang out it was all hands to the buffers!

When mono joined in 2000

The Number 1 single was:
Chicane / Bryan Adams - "Don't Give Up"

The Number 1 album was:
Travis - "The Man Who"

Beats your ''young'' feeling PSF Angel! :PDT_Xtremez_31:

All I have to hear is the first few lines of either of the following and I flash back to Tossford where I'm swinging a bumper across a gleaming floor, trying to put creases into a hairy blue, bulling up boots, putting RAF blue blanco(!) on my side pack and polishing brass buckles .... it didn't affect me really it didn't; I'm sure that it didn't ... absolutely not ...

Maggie May - Rod Stewart
Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves - Cher

"... it's late September and I really should be back at school .... ", "... the people from the town they call us ..." :PDT_Xtremez_42:
Fook that brings back memories - same place same songs obviously around the same time

started with-tank fly boss, what jam nitty gritty, you're listening to the boy from the big bad city 'This is Jam Hot'. .

"Dub be good to me" by Beats International featuring Lindy Layton?

I remember no1 when I joined up was "Stay" by Shakespeare Sister.
According to the online checker it wasnt! It says Wet Wet Wet and Goodnight Girl!
I also remember that godamn ar5e Bryan whining Adams Robin Hood rubbish staying at no1 for months during my mechs course.

Its good though how a song makes you think of where you were and what you were up to!!

Apparently Whitney Houston was No 1 'I wanna dance with somebody' - doesnt ring a bell.

'Under the boardwalk' the cover by Bruce Willis was what was blasting out of the radio when we were bumping the floors at Swinditz, and brings back the memories.

Bryan Adams - Everything I Do, I do It For You

Most popular vid on video juke box at Swinders? Duran Duran - Girls On Film!!!
