1) '96 Rover 414i bought for £390 from auction 2 years ago. Front brake discs & pads, a new head gasket and 2 MOT's later it's never let me down.

2) A Marina based kit car in bits, but that's a different story

I seem to have a habit of buying **** cars........

Some of you guys drive such, erm, interesting cars! Get yourselves down the Alfa dealership, it's the way forward. Also feel free to treat yourselves to a mighty Hillman Imp - pure class!

what do you drive

what do you drive

1995 oldsmobile 98 regency. Full sized 6 pasenger beast. It gives my butt a good ride, and isn't too hard on petrol. Averages 25 miles per gallon.

Home car - Old Ford Mondeo 1.6 Hatch (1994). Needs replacing but mortage needs to drop first.

Works Car - H reg Pegueot 309 1.4 ...... The red shed. Brought for 400 quid to drive to Colt from Norwich in Jan 2004. It did 19,000 miles in the last year, running from Norwich to the rotting cabbage patch and Waddo.

156 K on the clock. Has been seen doing 90 down the A47 and scares the s**t out of everybody including the driver!!!:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Has broken down once properly (HT coil cooked, the RAC man checked everything else!):PDT_Xtremez_14:

Starter motor solenoid needs a hammer more often now (was a replacement fitted two years ago).:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Will it be seen running to Marham on a daily basis????? Time will tell!!!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Off Topic Dunno, but Mr Drafter wants to pull his finger out cos me promotion and posting has been delayed by 4 months thanks to "reshuffles, redundancies, and disbandments"

But like the murphys.............

My Current Fleet

My Current Fleet

Spoilt for choice really, daily drive is a Beemer 325 TDS with starship mileage but still reliable. Weekends it's a choice between my porker or the VFR 750 or RD 250 LC, depending upon sanity levels. Get rid of road tax I say!!

My first and only vehicle is my 1970 Land Rover 2A 88-inch. Not exactly what you'd call a young lad's car. But it's oh so fun to drive compared to modern cars, crash box on first and second gear and so I just double declutch it through all the gears.

It's brilliant in that it's rather cheap to keep going and it is almost completely mechanical! I can't begin to list the jobs I've done to it either, as there's so much. :PDT_Xtremez_35: An example of why it's so useful to me in how I can maintain it, is that it blew its head gasket a week ago. I've spent this weekend removing the head, cleaning the valves and surfaces, and doing other little jobs on the engine top end... and I've put it all back together again. Now how many lads of my age can you find who can do that these days! :PDT_Xtremez_17:

Going to work..Micra 1.3, does the job. At work I drive a 38 ton plated 16 speed DAF 95XF 480 Eurospace, its gorgeous! Both my girls love going:PDT_Xtremez_28: in it.

Is that legal?

Might fill in a 658 to take me kids to school.

Doh! :PDT_Xtremez_42: one at a time...not together! and no I don't take them to school in it! Couldn't get it thro the village without dismantling some ancient architecture.

I am now the extremely proud owner of a T reg Vectra 1.8 16v - I don't care what anyone else says - it had a new cam belt fitted - and, after my last car went to the great scrap heap in the sky after the cam belt snapped at silly o'clock in the morning in the middle of nowhere - I am proud to be driving any car at all!!!
Bargain for the money - and makes me smile immensely when driving it!!

(This Vectra driving is infectious - I would never have considered one before until I started driving another one belonging to a mate!!)

2000 (X Reg) Toyota Previa - how sad is that?

But then, how else do I transport 6 kids and the missus?

Had to give up a 1994 200TDi Landrover Discovery for the MPV and you can be sure that as soon as the baby is old enough to sit in a booster seat, I'll be returning to LR via a 110 CSW.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Mazda 6 TS2, 2.0 litre, fun to drive and fairly quick for a diesel....no longer mine though as forced to sell it due to living in Central London, couldn't afford the insurance and parking permit costs....:PDT_Xtremez_08:
