DIT have rapidly deleted the tweet promoting the reds upcoming tour of Trump land as it depicted the wrong aircraft. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7182927/Russian-fighter-jet-used-poster-promote-Britains-iconic-Red-Arrows.html "This really is an embarrassing blunder. The aircraft depicted isn't the BAE Hawk trainer used by the Red Arrows, or anything remotely like it. It looks like a depiction of a Russian Sukhoi SU-30.Both aircraft are so vastly different, in every respect - and it isn't even the correct nationality.'' The tweet marked 48 days to go before the Red Arrows largest overseas deployment for 25 years in north America. Between August to October the Red Arrows will be performing across 18 cities in the US and...
Despite the MOD investing in quarters it seems that things are still in a poor state. "The department said it was investing more than £80m a year to improve the quality of its homes," https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48795719 Historically our brown chums had some of the worst married quarters to live in but some scaly patches of ours weren't up to much either.
Seems live under the ocean wave is just not exciting enough for the rum, bum and baccy boys of HMS Vengeance now its lines of snow in Florida. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7094815/Three-sailors-board-Royal-Navy-submarine-carrying-16-nukes-caught-taking-cocaine.html A couple of things spring to mind, the Submarine lads surely thought Florida is to far away from dear old Blighty to get caught with a CDT test and Florida what a nice det for the CDT lads.
For younger readers being gay or getting pregnant were once valid reasons for being kicked out of the services After serving for 18 years he was "forced out" because he was gay he appears to have served in more than a few hot spots. He served in the Falklands War, did six tours of duty in Northern Ireland and was also posted to conflict zones in the Middle East. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-48184978 "A Falklands veteran forced out of the Royal Navy over his sexuality plans to sue for the return of military honours. Joe Ousalice, 68, served for nearly 18 years but was discharged in 1993 when there was a ban on LGBT people serving in the armed forces." If he wins and gets his gongs back and perhaps some compensation are we in for a...
Our ever inventive camo clad chums in the Army have found yet another way to get themselves into trouble. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47837499 "Six soldiers have been arrested over an alleged sex attack on a female soldier, it is being reported....The teenager woke to find the men standing over her........Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said he was "horrified" and there would be a wider review into "inappropriate behaviour in the military".........The men were questioned by military police. Five men were arrested last Friday night and a sixth on Monday morning..." You have to wonder about the intellect of these idiots.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4502537/brits-battling-isis-campaign-medal/ MEDALS FOR OP SHADERSBritish soldiers battling death cult ISIS will be honoured with campaign medal OUR Boys and Girls battling death cult Islamic State will be honoured with a campaign medal, The Sun can reveal. Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon confirmed the move during a whistle-stop tour to British troops in Iraq. He jetted to two separate training bases – in Erbil, Kurdistan, and Taji north of capital Baghdad – to deliver the welcome news ahead of the three year anniversary of combat air sorties. He told troops said: “What you’ve been doing here really matters back at home. “Because of the importance of this campaign and because of the success...
Similar to the graphic we had some time back showing all the nuke explosions around the world. This graphic shows the sheer numbers of munitions dropped on ISIS day after day by coalition forces. Some of the places are only "visited" rarely but Mosul seems to be "visited" virtually every day. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6675015/Fascinating-animation-shows-single-bomb-led-coalition-dropped-ISIS.html Naff sound track though
On this day in 1943, Jean de Selys Longchamps, a Belgian RAF pilot, switched off his radio, left his squadron over Ghent and turned his plane toward Brussels. He hit the narrow Gestapo HQ, dropped a 🇧🇪 flag and made it back to England. He was both demoted and decorated for this. https://t.co/Rg3otaRFY5 No sense of humour then. I'm a citizen not a subject
This smacks of desperation and a the realisation that our brown colleagues are so short of numbers anyone will do. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6557031/Soldiers-aim-Armys-new-recruitment-drive-calling-Snowflakes-sign-up.html Hard to see this gaining any traction with it's supposed target audience but no doubt a highly paid focus group came up with this jolly wheeze after a QUANGO funded brainstorming session. I await the RAF version, have you made Airfix kits, stared at the sky, flown abroad to go on holiday, like the colour blue etc etc.
