The government say they’re not calling in the military yet but if that’s the case, why did I see this whilst out for a walk.....

I was in my local Asda last night and got to see the nasty side of human nature.

There was literally nothing on any of the shelves - no bread, no vegetables, no pasta, nothing. Rather bizarelly, there was an abundance of things like soft drinks, and seafood sauce...

Anyway, when I finally got to the checkout ahead of me was a "lady" who was clearly panic buying - her trolley was filled to the brim with all the sorts of stuff people have been advised not to bulk buy.

Every time she put these items on the conveyor the checkout lady said to her, in a polite manner, that under current guidelines she was limited to just 3 of each item she was buying.. This was clearly irritating the lady, and when she put her 5 bottles of Asda own brand lemonade on the conveyor, and the checkout lady took two off, this woman exploded in a foul mouthed tirade, accusing the checkout lady of bullying, denying her kids essential foodstuffs and generally being downright obnoxious. So much so that the guy behind me and I told this woman to STFU and be thankful she could buy what she did, given that idiots like her were most likely causing less well off people to go without.

I do take comfort though from the acts of truly decent people out there; the people who are doing shopping for their neighbours who are self isolating are just one example.

My eldest just phoned. He is in isolation at home with dry cough, headache and high temperature so anyone that is on 8 Sqn that may have been in contact PM me and I will give you his name.

It's not just shoppers who are acting as twats.

Shocking, but not surprising, and displaying an appaling level of humanity. Clearly Mr Johnston hasn't grasped the idea that what he has effectively done is to render someone homeless at a time of global crisis, and hasn't entertained the idea that Senor Quintas might be needed when this virus pandemic finally dies down.

And if it were me I would find the last paragraph of that letter somewhat patronizing.

This pandemic is certainly showing people’s true colours for what they are. It’s interesting to see the owner of Chelsea football club looking after the NHS staff whilst that bearded clunt Branson demands his staff take unpaid leave and wants billions from the government.

I reckon they will bail him out otherwise think of the court cases.

How can you blame people going for a drink in their local, when idiots say this

Why should I shut I need to make a profit.

I'm afraid that PHE/NHS and the Government have tried to give us some freedom to live under less draconian conditions, to have a few choices left and to make the right ones...and it hasn't worked. As a population we have a sizeable minority that have not listened, have not taken heed of the pictures coming out of Italy and China, can not connect the dots that social distancing is not about the healthy young 25 year olds health so much but the vulnerable old person who catches it off him as he continues to do anything he wants against sound guidance. We will go into stringent measures very soon but in my opinion not soon enough.

I live in Cornwall and we are facing a deadly predicament. We have a huge populace of old people...they like to retire down here. We also have just one hospital with normally 15 ICU beds in it...although more beds are now being rigged up its still going to be a pitiful amount to cope with whats coming. We are at the end of a long supply chain...As food trucks arrive the food is barely making it onto the shelves before its in someones trolley and gone. If you go 1-2 hours after opening the shelves are bare of most everything (except from toothpaste...go figure!). The predicament is that because its only advice not to visit pubs and restaurants that, apparently, is carte blanche permission for tens of thousands of people to load up their cars and head down here for a break and as the schools are now on 'holiday' (that's how they are saying it on Facebook Groups) they are taking advantage and coming down even earlier. Holiday Parks are advertising their caravans and chalets as 'isolation pods'! Feck my life if they don't shut these places down soon we'll be in a world of sh1t down here...especially as a deal of second home owners are coming in from London.

And of course London has more cases than anywhere else in the country. Nothing like spreading the virus around is there?

Just got serious, pubs closed and people paid to stay at home, did they close the pubs because people are being paid to stay at home?

Random quote of the day, from someone obviously too young to remember the last world war, “its worse than war time this” in a super market fairly well stocked, apart from tinned goods and toilet rolls.

So Tim Martin just got his arsed wiped.

Was staying in Huntingdon the other day and the only town centre pub with a decent crowd was the Wetherpoons, everything else was deserted.

Goes to show that people that use Wetherspoons are too fúcking thick to understand isolation.

Coronavirus: Wetherspoon's boss vows to keep Doncaster pubs open saying shutdown is 'over the top'
The boss of a pub chain with five bars in Doncaster has vowed to keep his venues open during the coronavirus crisis – despite the Prime Minister telling people to stay away.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme this morning, Tim Martin, the chairman of UK pub giant JD Wetherspoons, said a shutdown would be ‘over the top’.
Mr Martin – whose company owns around 900 pubs and employs 37,000 people – said they should stay open but with increased 'social distancing’ in place, like Parliament.
He said: “Parliament is open and everyone says, 'yes, sensible'.
The Red Lion in Doncaster.

“I think it's the same, I don't think you can shut down all pubs and shops indefinitely.
“I think the sensible balance is for pubs to open but implement social distancing measures in pubs.
“I don't think a shut down is sensible policy, it's over the top.”
He said people could be discouraged from standing at the bar or sitting further apart in the pub.

Wetherspoons has five pubs in Doncaster – The Gate House and Red Lion in Doncaster town centre. The Old Market Hall in Mexborough, The Running Horse at Doncaster Sheffield Airport and The Queens Head at Maltby.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged people to stop going to pubs, restaurants and theatres but stopped short of enforcing a ban.
But others, such as Doncaster MP and former Labour leader Ed Miliband, are calling for stronger action from the Government.
On Twitter, he said: “As well as a comprehensive economic package tomorrow, the government surely now should be ordering the shutdown of cafes, pubs, restaurants etc.

“There is no good explanation of why not and it is undermining social distancing.”
Other Doncaster venues are also staying open – including the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
It is understood a number of pubs are also expecting to open their doors across the course of the weekend – traditionally one of Doncaster’s busiest periods for drinkers.
Mr Martin's stance was criticised on social media after the interview.

James Melville said keeping so many pubs open during the crisis was ‘grossly irresponsible’.
And Piers Morgan described Martin’s words as 'insane stupidity’.

I don't have a television so I can't confirm but I hear that Boris has now demanded that pretty much everything closes down. I can only wish those poor bastards who work in clubs, pubs, gyms and anywhere else in the hospitality business good luck.

I do feel however we should thank the Chinese for their appalling eating habits and lack of hygiene. About 50 megatons should do it and cleanse Wuhan appropriately.

I suppose the thick muppets will be .........................panic buying booze from tomorrow, if they have not already started.
They already have started today 14:00 in the supermarket there was only bottled Budweiser boxes of 12 and some obscure French lager packs of 12 plus tiny tins of fruit or berry flavoured ciders.

I run a pub quiz on a Sunday evening (That's on hold for no one knows how long) my usual audience of 25 to 30 bodies are aged 50+ with the odd bunch of youngsters on occasion. Even before pubs were told to shut the vast majority of the quizzers had told me they weren't attending because of government guidelines on not using pubs, avoiding social gatherings, social distancing etc. There are lots of good decent folks out there who are trying to do the right thing for us all and of course a few devil may care d1ckheads who think they are invincible and lack the brain cells to see the bigger picture about transmission between age groups and the notion of the common good.
