TCW for me too. Get there 13th Feb on to 2 Sgn, C Flt. Avoided the place for 17 years so was expecting that tbh.
Lucky you this will be my 3rd time :(. Promotees are easy targets for 90SU, Career Management - I think not, 13 yrs I.T. experience = TCW field sqn, when Cyber is the bigger priority across defence.

Whilst Cyber may be the biggest priority - there has to be a vacancy there to send someone to in the first place! Promotion, as I have posted on here a number of times is to fill established vacancies only. If a vacancy doesn't exist somewhere then we don't offer promotion, simples!Substantive Sgt's are sent to 90SU just like promotees - kicking and screaming about it. If 90SU was anywhere else in the country you would be crying out to go there. If you aren't happy about going you didn't have to accept the promotion and we could have offered it to someone else who would gladly accept it.

Thanks for the Gen Blue,

It seems like you are getting a little riled mate, Don't take anything to heart, People will always find something to complain about.

@ The complainers, please feel free to turn down AS MANY promotions as you like, you won't here any complaints from me.... :P

There are 2 or 3 at JCU I believe.

I really couldn't care less where 90SU is in the country. Leeming is one of the better locations for me in the country. Sport wise it is within 20 miles of a facility where I can compete/train/test and 100 miles closer to my family and 200 miles closer to my wifes family.

If its that bad why the hell did you say yes? You should thank your lucky stars you got offered it, there are a lot of people out there who should be getting promoted that haven't.

It's called Zeus and developing you, taking you out of an area you know and are skilled in and putting you in a hostile environment where you can mess up and add to the great reputation.

I imagine the career manager has those slots you mention lined up for his drinking buddies, or for someone he has screwed over in the past?:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Good luck to all I am still shocked that someone who has been in for 17 years got picked up I was begining to think you still had to be within your initial 12.

PS Raf Blue (while I normally like your information) I think you may need to open your eyes, unless you need me to give you some details of slots created for people to stay in location or rules relaxed to allow some people to jump the queue for a slot they want.

Can hold my tongue no more!!!

Can hold my tongue no more!!!

Oi Flying B........ Did you know where the offer was for when you signed? of course you did. Therefore you can have no complaints. If you didnt want the posting then you should have turned it down and given the slot to someone who would be greatful of the promotion.
An offer is an offer and you should feel lucky that you got one at all.

Forgot to add.... i'll take your promotion and posting if you dont want it

But that would mean a lesser individual being promoted?
Maybe in future a posting note should be sent to all potential promotees and those that don't whinge, whine, twist a sock, or put a case forward to stay in post get an extra 5 marks on the board?

That way the nasty slots get filled, which the promotion process seems to be about nowadays.

In essence you are right but Character traits that oppose core values such as NOT willing to put service before self that "Should" be highlighted in assesments and from personal experience are clearly not, make situations like this more and more prevalant.

You have the choice - Don't like your offer... Don't sign!
Don't like your lot........ then get out!

Having only left 90SU 4.5 years ago, to now be going back...well take what you will from that as to how I feel about it, one tour away from there and now I'm back. With 18mths left, it grips my **** when you get comments along the lines of why did you accept the offer. The answer is obvious enough, it was my last opportunity. There are no options available, other than civvy street.
Manning will not entertain you applying for jobs that come up on the volunteers register, regardless of whether your qualifications meet those asked for. You have signed as having accepted the promotion and posting and that is the end of it, do not pass go, do not collect £200.
What is the point of a volunteers register? :dejection:
