I actually tried to get this going on my machine (Windows Vista, Home Premium), but neither versions work on mine. I followed the advice given to another Vista user, but to no avail. I even turned off Windows Live One Care and it still would not load.

I've got 5.03 working on my XP machine and also on my Vista machine.....only problems i ever have is if i change the account settings...if i leave user account contol on it has no problem getting the work units.

Thanks TM, when I have done my Sunday jobs from wifey I will have another go. It does seem a waste of my computer not to use it for a good use, as it is on 24/7.

I have been folding since my last post and I am climbing up the e-goat ranks, currently on frame 435/1500 on the latestWU. I actually watched a few minutes of the display watching the grey, red and blue blobs floating around that mean diddly squat to me, but as long as it helps those that do know. Since I built this machine it has virtually been on 24/7, so as I do not use it all this time it was worth using the spare capacity for some good.

I found it more helpful to change the display to 'ball & stick', getting a better idea of the relationship between molecules or whatever they are.

And you moderators may see XB2 on the list. I've got my second machine running it now.

You can use the same details for both....as long as your machines are named differently (Like mine is FamilyPC and KidsPC etc and same for laptops) it will then combine your scores and send units to the respective PC's.

Thanks Tashy,
Not knowing, I put it on as XB2. but the machines do have different names. How do I change it back ?

XB

Depends on if your running it as a service or as the standard graphical client... I swapped to the service a while ago and it does it without you seeing anything.

Besides, we're doing well!!

Just thought I'd do my bit and get the Folding into the spotlight again.

The E-Goat team are ranking 1606 so with a push we will get below 1600 very soon.

Look here for an idea of how we've been getting on http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/extra_page.php?s=&t=54234

And for those new goaters out there, have a good look over this thread then get folding!:PDT_Xtremez_30:
Well that's another milestone achieved, the E-goat team is now in the top 1600 in the Universe - well done guy's and come on the rest of you it's free and there's a chance the results will stop SNCO's and Civvy pensioners from stinking of ****

I have it running under the usual name, but after finding my mistake (Ex-Bay or Ex_Bay), so you'll likely find an odd 1 WU. Meanwhile the machine's doing OK, or so it seems (I've won a certificate for something. . .).

The trick is to define the Name properly. As it is from a different machine name, it runs fine.

Bl@@dy Vista!!! GRRRRRR!!

Hello peeps,

After 2 days of messing around with my home PC, I decided a new one was the way forward...or try to find a new Motherboard and processor.

I went and bought a new HP unit today with Vista installed and so spent most of the day updating stuff....as you do.

I have now got round to getting F@H onto it but it wont download any work units!!!

HELP!!

Anyone got any quick fixes I may have missed??

I am starting to get (effing) annoyed with microsoft....AGAIN!!!

Please help someone!
