I have now got round to getting F@H onto it but it wont download any work units!!!

I am starting to get (effing) annoyed with microsoft....AGAIN!!!

Please help someone!

I had the same thing when i got new comp with vista.......I played around with the "user account" settings and managed to get downloading again. I now have user accounts turned off all the time.......vista bitches about this every time I do need to reboot but from the task bar it's only a right click to get rid of it.

If its set up right, you won't notice it. I've been folding since we started and never once noticed any lag.

Downloaded it yesterday and im just about to bang out my 4th WU. Not noticing any lag what-so-ever.

And just now it downloaded it onto my PS3. On there you can see all the other PS3's that are folding in the world. Im the only one in NI.

I got a tad confused when I lit up the 2nd machine for F@H.
As long as the Team number is the same and you use the same name, both scores are added to your tally.

Can I run the FAH Client in DOS mode? (#3016)

No. There is no client for DOS. Even though the program runs in a DOS box it is not a DOS program. The technical reason is because the program was ported from linux and like all C ports it was turned into a Windows 32 PE (portable executable) file. This means it depends on Windows libraries (Kernel32.dll and WS2_32.dll) among other files that are loaded by those libraries.

Ditto for me too, its currently slaving its way (and has been for the last few days) through a 500 frame unit. The ETA for completion is tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully that will rack up some major points!

Ok so I downloaded it and put in the team name, pressed ok and is there anything I need to do now or does it just work away? I mean when I put my puter on do I need to do anything to make it work or will it just kick in when I bring up tinters?? Sorry I have no knowledge of this stuff.

Well done and thank you !

No, it should load up when you switch on and carry on "folding" and will connect to the net as and when to upload results and download new work units.

You should not notice it at all working away in the background.

The gits making me feel guity. I'm currently using my Playstation 3 to do the folding every now and then. I promise to bang out a load of units soon. I'm sure I completed a few units over the last month, I will check when I finish work in the morning Tashy.

Unfortunatly, I dont think the yanks will let me download the software onto thier computers here in Iraq. I'll be back soon enough though.

Please don't confuse EX_Bay with Ex-Bay. The former was when I set up my second machine without realising how easy it was to join the two sets of results.
Ex-Bay is running two machines full time and is clocking up the points. When last seen it was 89 WU.

One thing you might be able to shed light on, please. I've lost the little flower thingy on my task bar, but I know the beast is working.
Any ideas, please?
