Just out of curiosity, when was the Job Evaluation for the movers? I believe it was at the same time as ours, I await to be corrected. I suppose what the crux of the matter is:

a) If we were informed of the whole process, the timeframe and the personnel involved from the beginning, then we may not feel left in the dark and have to ask so many questions.
b) Wasn't there an intimation that a decision had to be made by a certain date to come into effect for the new financial year? If so, do we get back dated to this year if its a yes? Or, as is more likely, if it is a yes, wait for next year.
c) If its a no, how will the news be disseminated? For those personnel OOA and out of trade, the logweb is the best tool, however much we slate it. I believe a roadshow of the trade heads of sheds and key players would be a particularly good idea. Have a few dates at centrally selected units for all available stackers to attend. Face time is so much better that impersonal and impassionate emails.

A few lessons have been learnt from this whole sorry episode. I just hope ALL of us can pick up on them.

DNN/DNR Can you give me a link for that logweb thingy please mate. Northwood is in the dark about it. Cheers fella.

As a new user to E-Goat I have been looking with interest to the posts added to this forum. I just want to firstly say that as a mover who has worked on and off for a long time with suppliers I was sorry to hear that you weren't upgraded to the high pay band, I believe you thoroughly deserved it just as much as movers thoroughly deserved it. I'll be honest and say that some of the posts on here whilst I understand people are frustrated not to have been so far awarded the pay rise, it is wrong to assume that movers were not entitled to the pay rise. It's really this simple, the military now is at such a premium in manpower scales that no trade regardless of qualifications required to join, length of training courses and time spent away from home deserve to be paid less than another trade. It's just pointless looking at other trades and trying to pick holes why they do not deserve the high pay band when in truth what must be done is look at the reasons why you weren't successful in the pay band increase. I think you’re absolutely right to pursue the reasons why if true your trade scored higher than others that have been successful but you still failed to be awarded the increase. Just wanted to jump onto your forum to say good luck with finding out more answers. Cheers

Good post from "fatdad". We are merely making oursleves look petty and smallminded when we slag off those trades lucky enough to be upbanded. They are looked at independant of us, due to differnet skillsets being required. None of us are happy about the length of time it has taken to get a decision or the fact that we found out about the Movers from the Movers! (Although where else would we get the gen on another trade from?) At the end of the day, rumourmongering, PVR'ing and bitching gets us nowhere, just frustrated. If any other trade wants to come on here and take the pi55, I would ask that the Mods remove any of their posts, this is trade specific, not the fight club and as most can see it is a contentious issue which could, in the long run, harm us as a trade.

Fellow Stackers, keep the faith!

This is the update currently showing on Logweb dated today.

"In response to rumours currently circulating, I can confirm AMP is still considering the recommendations of both Supplier and Movements trades and as soon as the Personnel Pay and Pensions office is notified of a decision, we will inform the chains of command accordingly."

According to that Movements are still being considered. Reading this either an error in the payrises on JPA (or a well generated rumour or April fool) or this update will lead to more frustration as to does anyone in our trade actually know what is going on with the pay review.

Interesting.

Interesting.

I have read all posts related to this topic. I have no real interest in the topic, as it does not affect me, in addition, I would not normally "parachute" a comment/statement in on a subject I have absolutely no idea about.

The following will stray off topic, so apologies in advance.

However, I would say that going down the route of comparing renumeration against worth is not correct. I have witnessed on so many occasions contractors seeing what they earn as an indicator of competence (from my experience mostly EX Army signallers) then wondering why they end up working in ever decreasing circles.

I will add that I am an EX DE techie (non AC type) and that I certainly work hard for my pennies. I have to say that it really is a no no for contractors to discuss what they earn.

Anyway. Back on topic. I wish the Supply trade all the best with gaining the higher payband. If others receive it, why not you.

To be fair mate I have just re-read for about the third time the last 3/4 pages of posts and cant see anyone slating any trade who have been upbanded.... in fact if you look back 2 pages or so Plumripe and Janto actually both congratulate everyone who has.. which I think you will find most stackers would do themselves. The only people who feel hard done by are the techies. ;)

I too received the e-mail this morning saying that they are still making a decision... did laugh slightly at the text about the original e-mail which said something along the lines of: All PSB. No decisions have as yet been made with regards to the pay review despite the rumours on e-goat...... Spoke in volumes to me... firstly because e-goat IS a RUMOUR network and secondly I wonder if there was no e-goat for us mere mortals to speak out on would we still be sat in the dark not even knowing that we were still being reviewed?

I have to say I do feel for the TS. I'm sure the person in the chair would have loved to be sending out a happier e-mail of congratulations this morning....... still there's always tomorrow.

Latest gen on Pay Review

Latest gen on Pay Review

Had an interesting brief today from our Sqn Ldr following a meeting with AVM ACOS A4 who just happened to be visiting a certain Wiltshire base today. He was asked point blank to clarify the whole pay debacle that has ensued, he picked up the phone and called the AMP who stated that...

No decison has been made or either Supply or Movements moving to the Higher Payband and an investigation is being carried out as to the whole JPA c0ck-up that show's that the Movers have moved up a pay band, the AVM stated that it was an error that would be rectified very soon. No doubt there will be sceptics to this info but this was briefed to a large group of individuals from LAC's to Flt Lt's by a Sqn Ldr who had come straight from the meeting with the afore mentioned AVM.

It was also said that our current TS had come in for some criticism on some internet sites and this was to stop as the TS is doing everything in their power to fight our corner and I for one am happy to wait for the official yes or no when it does or doesn't eventually come our way...

the official comment is 'there is still no news, so wait out'

You have to admit, putting a whole trade onto a different payband when its not authorised ranks as a pretty spectacular cock-up!

Admin error created on JPA..........kin' priceless........absolutely farsical!!:PDT_Xtremez_42:

If a prod was needed to move me on, then I have just been poked!!

Congratulations to the majority that have been successful, to you I bear no grudge. It is ironic that Admin, whose justification probably include an increase in workload via JPA, will have to schedule a 3rd day to close the BSW Office to shuffle the inevitable increase of PVR paperwork and fanning their terminals as JPA goes into melt down. Legitimising their pay increase at last!

In 24 years I have accumulated a myriad of logistic based qualifications, which have included; various driving licenses, ADR & IATA, Fuels Management to name a few. All designed to provide our increased Joint Service Military with a versatile, efficient, pro-active and diverse Logistic Support. It is testament to the RAF that over the years both the ARMY and Navy have adopted our processes and ideals to facilitate a very slick service both home and abroad.

I have a nephew who will be advised to rethink his trade choice when considering his options upon leaving school this year. Not because he will not enjoy the opportunities the trade has to offer, but because the pay will not reflect his potential contribution to the Service. I have often enthused about my exploits and the opportunities to travel and it is with a tinge of sadness that I will be suggesting that he will be financially better of as a Steward, or Admin Clerk............IT STINKS!!

Congratulations Sir, whoever you may be........enjoy the trade experience gulf for the next 10 years as the glut of ill advised LAC's try to catchup and fill the voids we're about to create. Logistics Specialists are a valuable asset in Civvy Street, highlighted in the salaries offered and paid.

Just got to sit down with Mrs Plumripe and look at our options, not a case of if, but when!

Indeed mate, says a lot that I have been out over a year now, yet my post was one of the ones that was evaluated with me still there. Good luck to you whatever you decide and to Dantura, all big losses to the trade!!!!

How do you know that? Were you the one that programmed it? We need to be told!
