Well done movers, serious. It's not like I'm paying for it so well done.
It seems we really are suffering because of the size of the trade. One of, if not the biggest in the RAF.
Still, I'm not getting a pay cut so I'll not lose sleep over it. DT_Xtremez_14:
Does the pay upgrade affect officers too ? I just wondered if in that case, supply officers with the Movts Q would be upgraded to the scheme ?
If it does turn out to be a huge error, what implications will it cause?
There will be a lot of people expecting higher pay, only to be told they can't have it as it was an error, so the whole system will be regarded as a joke (as if it isn't already).
There will most likely be a few who will take it to the press, or courts as they have been awarded something, and then had it taken away.
One good thing might come of all this, they will be forced to make an official announcement and some sort of explanation before the end of the month so people don't commit to money that they don't yet have, but have been promised on the pay chit.
My fingers are crossed for the movers. I wouldn't want to be in this situation.
Agreed, but JPA displays your pay and is always available to read before you get paid, wher the pay slip turns up a week after you've been paid.
I once got a payslip stating i was getting full pay, but when i went to the bank i was £300 short. I had tro produce copies of my bank statement and payslip to the Chief Clerk to prove i was short, and he made arangements for me to collect the money in cash an hour later.
I was informed that i should have the exact amount stated on JPA/Payslip and no more or less.
Legally, if you have it in writing that you are getting paid more, thats what you should be getting. Its a bit like a mis-priced item in the shop having to be sold at advertised price, and the seller taking a hit on the loss.
JPA pay run hasn't been done for this month yet, agreed. How can they see it on their payslip when the pay run hasn't been done yet?
I once knew a lad about 18 years ago called George who, as an SAC on the lower band, got paid about £1200 one month - exactly double the normal amount he should have been paid. 'Keep half of that back' everyones said to him...he didn't, spent the lot and next month got £6 in his pay packet. I believe he got round it with cash advances etc but was still messed around.
Legally I think in this position it's the same as every other over/underpayment - they will take it back regardless of the fact that it is the system that is at fault.
