Higher Pay Band?

I checked my JPA today and I am still on the higher payband and yes I am a mover.

Surely if it had been an admin error they would have sorted it by now?

Woody....please just re-read that bit for for any falldowns in logic :PDT_Xtremez_30:

No longer bothered for myself as I'm firmly on my resettlement leave now. Just that teeny little ache from one final kick in the spuds that sadly (or perhaps fortunately!) means that after 23 years there is FA except the decent guys n gals still in that I'll miss.

Never mind - on to the next great adventure :PDT_Xtremez_19:

Well done movers, serious. It's not like I'm paying for it so well done.

It seems we really are suffering because of the size of the trade. One of, if not the biggest in the RAF.

Still, I'm not getting a pay cut so I'll not lose sleep over it. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

woody if you re-read my post it came from a brief given yesterday at approx 1600hrs that was given to senior ranks (officers) of the Supply trade which includes Movements Officers who are in fact Supply Officers with a Movements Q, so if they have yet to cascade the info donw then don't shoot the messenger but an AVM from the Logs branch stated that 'The Movers have not moved to the higher payband, as the AMP has not made a decision on either the Supply or Movements trade'

Does the pay upgrade affect officers too ? I just wondered if in that case, supply officers with the Movts Q would be upgraded to the scheme ?

We are all getting a pay cut in reality, thanks to Broon and co!

If it does turn out to be a huge error, what implications will it cause?
There will be a lot of people expecting higher pay, only to be told they can't have it as it was an error, so the whole system will be regarded as a joke (as if it isn't already).
There will most likely be a few who will take it to the press, or courts as they have been awarded something, and then had it taken away.
One good thing might come of all this, they will be forced to make an official announcement and some sort of explanation before the end of the month so people don't commit to money that they don't yet have, but have been promised on the pay chit.
My fingers are crossed for the movers. I wouldn't want to be in this situation.

I have been told that some movers have already committed to financial outgoings (buying new m/bike etc on credit) on the back of their alleged impending rise.... oh dear!

TBH, if it turns out to be a mistake they only have themselves to blame as nothing official has been announced. I don't think they will have any recourse legally either?

Gross stupidity until it's in your pay packet.

Agreed, but JPA displays your pay and is always available to read before you get paid, wher the pay slip turns up a week after you've been paid.
I once got a payslip stating i was getting full pay, but when i went to the bank i was £300 short. I had tro produce copies of my bank statement and payslip to the Chief Clerk to prove i was short, and he made arangements for me to collect the money in cash an hour later.
I was informed that i should have the exact amount stated on JPA/Payslip and no more or less.
Legally, if you have it in writing that you are getting paid more, thats what you should be getting. Its a bit like a mis-priced item in the shop having to be sold at advertised price, and the seller taking a hit on the loss.

How can they see it on their payslip when the pay run hasn't been done yet?

I once knew a lad about 18 years ago called George who, as an SAC on the lower band, got paid about £1200 one month - exactly double the normal amount he should have been paid. 'Keep half of that back' everyones said to him...he didn't, spent the lot and next month got £6 in his pay packet. I believe he got round it with cash advances etc but was still messed around.

Legally I think in this position it's the same as every other over/underpayment - they will take it back regardless of the fact that it is the system that is at fault.

JPA pay run hasn't been done for this month yet, agreed.
But its JPA that is telling them about the 10-12% pay rise they have apparently got.
So as far as people are concerned, JPA is the proof they need to confirm the money they will be getting. It might not state exactly how much, but if you already know how much you are on and that your getting 10% extra, a few presses on a calculator will give a good guide to what's expected on the last working day of the month.

That is correct, if you KNOW its too much then you expect to give it back.
On the other hand, If you and all of your colleagues have seen a pay rise on the system at the time when a pay rise is expected, i think anyone could be forgiven for thinking that it is legit and not error.

I was overpaid for 3 years thanks to an 'Admin' error as the powers that be put it....
I applied for an increment i was told I was entitled to, it was accepted and I got the pay rise. Problem was it turned out I wasn't entitled to the increment and they took £1500 back off me. I was one of a good few hundred people that happened to when Pay 2000 was introduced and they took the money back. I even asked about redressing the Officer who told me i was entitled to the increment and the Officer who authorised it all but told where to go.
Trust me if anyone is paid more than they should be it will be recovered... This is the MOD and the Treasury nothing will stop them!

When you log on to JPA and select Information views (I think it's under that tab), just click on salary and you can see the annual increase. I'm on leave so can't confirm which tab its under but you can view your salary increase on JPA at any time but your EOM pay can't be viewed until beyond 17th of the month.

What is that Cheekymonkey Pr1c* thing banging on about(boohoohoo stackers not got payrise post)? Has anyone been told Stackers int getting higher yet? 2 stackers here so we are in the dark.

I just have to say that, pay rises for entire trades don't just happen by a slip of a finger whatever b***s**t line they try and feed us, however if somone has made this huge error on behalf of the movers pay, then the individuals responsible should be held accountable. This on the 9th day of the new financial year and still no ratification, has got to go down as one of the most embarrassing moments, our trade has found itself in a very long time. I can understand that the current financial climate is a major stumbling block, however surely the points system in place that JSJET use and implement, means either we have enough points or we don't, simple. Also whatever your view on this subject, one thing we must all agree on, is the total lack of communication from above, and that is indeed inexcusable, to say the very least.

p.s. I just wonder what the tabloids would think of this fiasco, especially with the upcoming political situation????

Another whisper I'm afraid folks! but I have just been told that JPA is telling the truth. Mover's do have it and supplier's don't. Not official, however I believe this will be, by the end of the month. Sorry but I feel you all probably new this anyway.
