STB I blame the rise in PVR rate soley to the fact that the RAF has funked up the pay sclaes and people will not take ****e wages for a job they can get at least 40% more for in civvy street, simple as that.

Guys PVRing from ISK are walking into jobs off shore starting at 45K, the forces cant compete with that.

I don't think its the pay thats resulted in an increasing PVR rate (predominantly lower ranks), as the pay is pretty good compared to some of the sh1te wages civvy companies are paying. Alright, you can go work on contract with some MOD "ripping off" company like DARA and earn 45k, but fcuk that, I'd rather drink Dot Cotton's bath water. I guess you're a GE (correct me if I'm wrong), so I know how cushy life is for you, don't try to kid me otherwise. The events in the Middle East/Afghan and poor management and leaders are the real reason the kids are leaving.

Off Topic 45K, 40% tax, contract work and no pension - where do I sign up for that. Oh and off-shore is such a wonderful place to work as well!

People are generally not in the forces for the wages, pretty much the same as Nursing and Teaching. Some like the security and cammeraderie and some like the war-like bits and genuinely join for that. I would suggest that if you are in it for the money then you PVR now as we aren't suddenly getting a 20% pay rise that I know of!

Like I said, the useless lazy winging spineless ****e SNCO's, which there are a plenty. Done time in the Gulf, so what, haven't we all for fcuk sake. You know what I blame mostly for the increasing PVR rate of SAC's - sh1t NCO's and Officers.

I take it you're a SAC with a gripe about your NCOs and Officers then?:raf:

I think it's more likely:

a) reduced manning

b) increased OOA

c) reduction in service/unit/section identity

d) lack of cash

e) empire building officers/civil servants

f) lack of an incentive for promotion (ie poor wage increase, far too much responsibility etc)

g) increased civilianisation (ie BAe etc)

h) increased "tri-service" bollox, especially purple postings

Just a few ideas. I certainly wouldn't blame the JNCO/SNCOs, they are the only thing holding the RAF together at the moment.

Biggest reasons for lads leaving our illustrious fighter squadron are undermanning, JPA expenses, guard every 5 minutes, QRA every five minutes, working weekends, leave bans, no post detachment time off.

All the above has always been the case.......if you like it you stay...if you dont you walk....SIMPLE AS.......things are the same for everyone else too!

Did I say, in my post anywhere, I was in it for the money?

I am talking from experience at ISK that this is the main reason SAC/JTs are leaving.

Yeah cheers for that, queer cnut. I don't know what ISK is, don't really want to know, but I still don't think money is the main reason people are leaving.
I've heard alot of lads recently saying they're planning on PVR'ing soon, and when I ask them why, its always the same answers - The mangement is sh1t, SGT/ChiefTech/FS/Boss whoever didn't have a clue what they were doing on Det, they're to busy looking after themselves, you don't get nothing back in return, sick of Afghan, fat lazy tw4ts who are continually downgraded getting promoted, etc, etc. I know some great SNCO's, who do improve morale, even if it is something simple like letting people off for a couple of hours to play footy or whatever. If people are working their nuts off for you, then there should be incentives, unfortunatley these incentives are dwindling.
Not gonna write anymore beacause I've got to get ready for work, and plus you just get on my fcuking tits.

Apart from the fact that spelling isn't your strong point, your first highlighted statement is typical and total, broadbrush sh1te. It also is a contrast with your statement that you have some knowledge of great SNCOs etc. The trouble with guys like you is that you want it all on a plate and you want the management to focus totally on your wants and needs and b0llocks to the job that they have to do, it's a two way street. Lastly, cut along and do some work instead of whinging. If anyone in the future gives you some responsibility, you might find out that the world isn't as simplistic as you think.:PDT_Xtremez_25:

There are two spelling mistakes which are typo's anyway, but thanks all the same. First of all, the comments I wrote were from other people in my squadron, I myself have no intention of PVR'ing, but I already stated that (suggest you read more carefully). You said "The trouble with guys like you", but you don't know me, I'm merely expressing the vibe I'm getting from a lot of the SAC's and JT's I work with, and hearing this along with seeing it first hand, I do believe bad management has a huge part to play in low morale, which ultimately leads to an increasing PVR rate. That's my opinion, and the opinion of many of my fellow Corporals. Quit the patronising sh1t, I've been in long enough to deal with boring cnuts like you.

No need to hide behind 'other people's' comments. It's quite obvious that you are a Cpl and the voicepiece of your section as your, sorry, other people's views, are all about personnel starting at the level above you. It could never be a JNCOs problem, could it? Management starts at your level! As for patronising sh1t, the truth does niggle sometimes doesn't it? When you have been in long enough to 'deal' with people like me, I will have been down the road a fcuking long time (9 years to do), so take some time for an introspective look and grow up!:PDT_Xtremez_25:

So I am a queer cnut now, well thanks for you inteligent input.

If you had been in long enough you would know what ISK is so I am guessing you are a smallie mech tech just got his tapes and lastly, I am glad i get on your tits, get used to it idiot, there are plenty of people around who have seen the likes of you many times before and can see through you like a thin peice of ice on a pond near ISK in mid July.

God, I dispair. You both like to make a lot of assumptions, oh high and mighty's. I'm just telling you how a lot of people feel, if you can't accept this in your silly self obsessed worlds, then so be it, I can't be chewed with you. During the various different jobs I've done in the forces, I've found there is nothing worse than someone who thinks he is something special, and has the right to call someone a "smallie" (who in the right mind uses such a sh1t term anyway!), when they know fcuk all about them. ISk - still no idea, a gay bar perhaps? Thats my last post, haven't time for anymore of this turd. Bonjour!

Is that not despair? Or was that another typo? Assumptions too near the truth then? When did I, or GT, say that we were special and could call you a smallie? ISK? try Ice Station Kinloss, never heard of it? You should have for all the wealth of years and experience you've had doing the various different jobs etc. As stated earlier, cut along now, try work without the whinge. It'll be a refreshing change!:raf:

It does!

It does!

The point is; it wont happen in the working day.

Here at Wittering, the guy's have been given 1 hour of their choice per week during the working day. The other 2 hours are to be done outside of the working day. I'm wondering wether I could aggregate it and just include my time Walking/Cycling to and from work each morning. It takes me about 10 mins to walk and around 5mins to cycle so if I cycle home for lunch (and I do) I should tott up 2 x 50min sessions accross the week!:PDT_Xtremez_15:

The trouble is, it is quoted as 2 X 50 min sessions, not totting up a few mins here and there. The acid test is passing the new level fitness test.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

So what you're telling me is that NO! you can't aggregate it!........ Bugger! Oh well I haven't failed one in 11 years and I don't intend to start failing now. What I want to know is how will they police it? OK you can keep a running tote on people leaving the section for sport but how do you do the same for the guys in the block or quarters or in Sawtry for that matter? It just won't work! I'm not going to add another 2 hours to my already busy day just to go down the gym, I get enough exercise looking after my kids at home.

The thing is it can't be policed properly and the hierarchy know this. I'm sure it's only targeted at the ones that obviously need to get fitter and also to get a gong for whichever airship recommended it. On that subject, has anyone seen one of our airships doing a fitness test??
