Pay Rise 2009

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Sadly, I believe someone is getting confused with last year: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7232379.stm

I have just done a quick Google for "Armed Forces Pay Rise 2009" (bet I'm not the only one!) and have just come up with details on the last couple of years, for once it seems the MOD have been able to secure a document.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

You're Funny lol.

They havent evene written it yet, they are just hoping April will come and go and nobody will notice that we didnt get a payrise.

The AFRB have recommended a pay increase. An anouncement will be made on Friday 20th March.

Ive just checked the news on tinterweb, and there is no change,

the economy is still on its arse, Jade Goody is still alive, and still no mention of a payrise.

Has the world stopped?

I was also told 2.6% last night.

Reliable source, or some bird behind the counter at the Spar shop...?

Suffice to say, given the state of our economy at the moment (and of course us featuring so highly on the government's list of priorities), I reckon that's about the best we can hope for.

Fingers crossed...

Armed Forces: Pay

Patrick Mercer: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence on what date the Armed Forces Pay Review Body submitted its 2009 report on armed forces pay to his Department; and when his Department plans to publish (a) the report and (b) its response to the report’s recommendations. [263888]
Mr. Lidington: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence on what date he received the report of the Armed Forces Pay Review Body for 2008; on what date he proposes to publish the report; and if he will make a statement. [263810]

16 Mar 2009 : Column 829W

Mr. Hutton: The Armed Forces Pay Review Body submitted its report for 2009 to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Defence on 29 January 2009. The Government intend to make only one public sector pay award announcement this year and this will be made in due course.

... and what will that announcement be? You're all getting c0ck all, because we've given all your money to rich, feckless to$$ers in the city.

At the end of the day, who really cares. They will give us what they want (not what were worth or can afford). I will stay in anyway because of the pension trap (and I might like my job).

Any rise will be nice but it will be around 3% as per usual.
