Pay Rise

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Just spoke to a geezer recently back from somewhere hot, but rained over Christmas, and the guys and girls had a visit from the CinC (somebody high up apparently) who told them this years pay rise is going to be 13% (yes thirteen percent). Any gen out there?

well I guess we were kidding ourselves. It's PVR time folks. Des Brown quoted saying that this pay rise reflects the gratitude the goverment have for our Armed Forces. Gratitude! What gratitude. 9.3% for new entrants. I wonder why they are doing that. Any guesses. Anyway 3.3% increase, with accomodation and food up to 2.7%. I let you work the math out on that one. This is utter blolocks.Someone mentioned on this thread, that If a a fair pay rise was not acheived, the PVR flag will be waved even higher. I think we will see the results of this farce, in the not too distant future.:PDT_Xtremez_25:

3.3% is a ****ing joke, gratitude my arse!!!!

The 9.2% for new entrants is obvious..........they do **** all work and can't wait to go and play with each other on their X-Stations & Playbox 360's, obviously a price hike in games for these is on the horizon so this PC/Pink & Fluffy loving excuse for a Government ****** 's(we have had the displeasure of for the past decade..........with no solution in sight) is keeping all the kids sweet.

Des Browne and his friends are all ****** 's :PDT_Xtremez_32:

Rant over............for now anyway.

Stitched up?

Stitched up?

Is it normally announced with the other public sector rises?
When I heard 3.3 sounded about right, maybe a little low considering the commitments and bad press lately.
Then heard about the Nurses et al.
Feel bad for them in a way, but we can't winge now can we?

I'm shocked that nurses only got what amounts to around 1.9% over the year. Still at least judges got 2.5% so that should keep them off trust me tone's back for a while. As for our 3.3% rise in pay, 2.7% increase in quarters, 2.7% on what they try to pass off as food, and heaven only knows what on garages. Still at least the 9% figure acts like a nice smokescreen and I'm sure it wasn't really used to help get the future generations through the AFCO doors.

Just out of curiosity what did the snakes in parliment get this year as a pay rise?

If you PVR you are going to have to pay for your food and accom anyway - so why don't you stay in, buy your own house, live in it, pay for your own food and then guess what?

You will have a 3.3% pay rise.

Easy.......... :PDT_Xtremez_19:

Well mate, I see were you are coming from. However let me say, that I am a home owner. I got so fed up with the siht accomodation etc. That I have mortgaged myself up to the hilt, so that I have got a home to go to when I leave in, the not too distant future. Every single penny of a pay rise is precious to me, and to everyone else come to that. I would like to have a better quality of life for me and my family now. Is that too much to ask? With Gas, Electricity, Council tax etc, constantly on the up. This pay rise would offset just half of the extra money I have had to pay on increases in bills. If we had a decent pay rise, I would be able to find a small amount of extra money to make my families life a little more enjoyable. You would probably ask, why I did not move into families quarters? How long would it have been before I would have to find a permanant home, knowing that I am out soon. If i had just sat on my arse, what kind of problems would I have found myself in when I come to leave. It sounds like you love your job mate. Great. I hope you have great career. I really mean it. However I know that I can get more money, in my trade. If i work out in the Civvy sector. I am just fed up with all the extra duties associated with my job. I feel like a jack of all trades, master of none. I absolutly hate that. A decent pay rise, would have made things more bearable. However this pay rise, just confirms my view of how our Lords and masters rate us. For me, It's to time to go.

They had their time

They had their time

Nurses were flavour of the month for a few years, but Tone is still suffering probs with NHS after GPs took all the cash. Funny that they get 0%. Don't tell them I said that or my offspring will never get registered next time I move!

Report slags off the management of the quarters, so thats good and they gonna review X factor too next year. Remember that when they come to visit you!

Also goes on to explain how giving aircrew £50,000 makes sense, and also how they are going to bring garages into line with civvie rent (minus a discount)

Low and high band entrants get the same now and there is very litttle between them at level 2.

Well I'm not complaining about a pay rise of over £1000. A lot better that other public sector workers that's for sure.

I think the timing of the announcement is a bit fishy - attempting to hide the fact that they (nurses etc) are being done over by "showing gratitude" to the armed forces.

1.9% for the NHS feel a bit of industrial action coming on. Lets see what the unions think about that.

I just looking at the pay scales the now and 3.3% ok it equates to a jump in a pay grade but if you look at 3.3 % of a high ranking Air commodore its about 4 grand a year :/

I think its unfair , lower ranks should get a larger % and the higher the rank you go the less the % goes !!

As for the nurses , yeah i feel for them too, they have the option to strike and does eventually lead to a pay increase !! We dont !!

I have the funny feeling us Techies will be working in A & E soon when they go on strike lol

3.3 is the pits for what we do and if the public sector go on strike we will have to cover that one. Tories all the way for me now, let dump this mickey mouse government:PDT_Xtremez_30:

I believe Air Commodores only got 2%. Still equates to a lot of money though.

An Air rRank with a kind thought for us at the working end?

You not been in the real world long have you?
The AFPRB even commented that high rankers are not getting as much as civvie counterparts.
Yes there are too many of them, and I don't realy know what they do, but if I had worked my way up there I would want the money too. After all how would I get Tristen and felicity through 16 yrs of boarding schools. They can go from age 2 can't they.

3.3% is more than i expected, less than i hoped. My Wife is a Nurse though, she is getting 1.9% with a bleeding Honours Degree! And she earns 4 grand less than me as it is! We are getting sh@t on, but some are getting it even worse.:PDT_Xtremez_26:

So, we and our other public sector colleagues are to ensure that the economy does not go off the rails, fairdo's, but all should be involved. A mate found this interesting link this afternoon:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/MPPayIncrease/

It states that:

MP's pay increases should be capped at the average percentage for wage increases for the general population. Thus if the economy and government do a good job pay increases would be high otherwise as is now the case MP's would get 3%.

Now who can say fairer than that? If there are any PPRUNERS, ARRSES and RUMmers out there, get this link on their sites. It's only got 20 signatures so far!!!

I hope you don't mind Webbo but I've added a poll to get a feel of the Goat community for the 3.3% pay award...

There are all sorts of weird petitions going around. There was one for bringing back bacon wheat crunchies or something.

Don't think they will be taken seriously.

I think poor old brown has just lost the chance to be PM though?
He must feel stitched up by the rt hon Tony Blair too.
Here's a spade gordon dig yourself a hole......

Did it work for you? For some reason mine hasn't registered yet. Perhaps the Civil Servants running it have already gone out on strike?
