One of our Rock Instructors was a Cpl Too#y and he was a complete cnut, the ladies liked him though, seem to remember certain rumours that he was a part time stripper.
I remember Cpl Mes***. I also remember on one of our paractice parades you could hear "tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic screeeeeeeeechhhhhhhh" as he ran up beside and then slid backwards on his segs screaming at someone who had messed up somewhat. Legend... pure legend
The Officer was reputed to have been involved in a secrets for sex scandal in Cyprus a year or so before,
The book states it was printed in 6/88 so pictures probably taken 87 and used for a few years afterwards
Received book Oct 90
Got on the train Jan 91
Still happy'ish Mar 2008 on the way to 22
Interesting.... I passed out in Nov 86 and i would wager that the
passing out parade featured on the last page is mine. The chap
in the blue turban (this isn't a joke) looks familiar. He wasn't on
my flight but we had 3 Flt's and a flight of WRAF's on our parade.
I recognize that reviewing Rodney aswell. Will have to dig out the
video and investigate further.
Just for the nostalgia I'm going to try and put some of my Pass Out Parade onto youtube and post that. it's got a 5 minute bit at the start that show's the family things like the Mile 1/2, MFT, Drill practice and other stuff giving them an insight into what their sons and daughtesr have gone through
wish me luck....

Bloody Hell - this thread has brought back some memories. I passed out in Nov 06 and we had a Chinook Flypast - apparently it was quite impressive. I've still got my copy of the book somewhere as well as the video. Ah, the good old days, greens, blue shirts, neck towels, putties, a real rifle to play with and the soundtrack to Top Gun being played all the time. Does anybody remember the TV programme that was on quite a while ago about life at RAF Waddington? The SWO at the time was my Sgt DI at Swinderbutlins - dear old Sgt R....n - god bless 'im.
