Swinderby December 1988, Our DI's were Sgt (Giz a fag) Duke and
Cpl (Shower 'o' ****e) Guthrie.

Ahh what fond memories:PDT_Xtremez_16:

Swinditz 76, with Sweet and Evans, and as far as I recall we never saw the camp, it was always foggy.

I was at Swinderby from April 1980 to June that year then Halton for my Prop Mech's course then Waddington on Vulcans. My spiritual home I think is 14 Sqn, and RAFG. Now those were the days. :raf:

Ex-Ranker Zob

Ex-Ranker Zob

Could we have a new button for Swinderby and Cranwell - perhaps with the explanation... "...I saw the light..." :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Swinderby, 17flt in aug 86, bit of a giggle. still can't march, fly past was a jp. F""k me things have changed.

Went past there the other day, new houses one side and leveled except for some of the hangars the other, quite sad really. oh well thats progress. If the army gets its way that is what the rest of the Raf will be like in 10 years.

Got to pay for the bankers f""k ups some how.

My spiritual home has got to be RAFG and Laarbruch. Now things have changed.

Smally. :PDT_Xtremez_15:

Swinderby December 1992 (the last Christmas pass-out parade). Hey, when I was that young a few months was a big difference :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Smally to you too.....:PDT_Xtremez_35:

March 1992 2 Flt under Cpl Greg Cole, (Rtd)!

Spamout:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Yeah, OK, I'm a smally too.
Halton, 7FLT, with Sgt McKinnon overseeing things.
Passed out in Nov 98. Mighty cold that year! Frozen river etc, but that just helped numb my feet so I didn't know how damaged they were til later...

Swinditz, (or what is left of it), will always be my spiritual Service home.
11 Dec '90 - 11 Flt - Sgt W***** and Cpl F*****.

Great days and great memories, although at the time the experience didn't match the now happy musings.......lol! Have been to many places since.

After Swinderby it was straight to RAF Police School, saw my family jump in to a car to go home after the Grad as I climbed on to a coach for Newton. I was on BPC472 and Grad'd with the Baton.

Innsworth also holds a thought for me, mainly because of where it was, sooner than what the tour was like. Brampton will also be sorely missed when it goes and there are so many more, but it always comes back to those informative 6 weeks at RAFSRT Swinderby.

So sad to see it now :PDT_Xtremez_26:

I am surprised that there are not more from that period posting on this forum, or am I one of last from that era still in??????
