I was at Swinditz mar 92 on 5 flt. Flight Staff were Sgt. Boyd (Growly old scouser) Cpl. Studd (harsh...but fair :-)) and cpl. H**bs (utter idiot).

MFT at Luffers and then back to Luffers after pass out for trade training.

We had Sgt Boyd a year earlier, thought he was Boyden though? Like you say, growly old scouser though!

Swindlebury 17 June 1980 17 Flight, there were 200 a week joining at that point the place was mobbed:PDT_Xtremez_19:

Cosford February 1958 (33rd Entry) - Moved to St Athan later that year (35th Entry). Would say though that Akrotiri was my Spiritual Home, two tours plus detachments and a few visits since leaving the mob.

Bridgenorth, '62.

Sgt Bigham (A popular song at the time - "Kiss me good night, Sgt Bigham") and Cpl 'Dolly' Wood.

*******s, both, but Wood the worse.

I recall Bigham awarding me a wednesday afternoon in the Tin Room. I had committed the dreadful crime of being last out of the barracks after a boot-change. I didn't go, just to see what would happen. Sod all. The dull bugger never even remembered who he had condemned to what.

My 'real' spiritual home was Honington. Mid-late '70. Buccaneers. 'Honington Zone, Hub O' De Universe."

Swinderby 5th Dec 1975

Spiritual home, The Anchor North Warnborough. Arrived at Odiham in the summer of '76 as an LAC. Left in the spring of '92. as a SNCO
Wessex, Puma & Chinook.

ASF, 33SQN, and short trips to Halton, Wildenrath, Compdet RAF Stanley, 1563 Flt Belize.

AAAAH, I can still remember the smell of the abattoir and 'swing fog' in the morning

Haven't read all the post's but I am one of the None of the Above, so apologies to anyone else who is going to post why I am none of the above. Reason, YTS we did our basic training at Hereford, if you ask there are alot of us around. And if there ane any service number geeks out there we can be identified by our serv no pre fix, as they all start with 827.

Me, Nov 89 and after re-mustering from another trade went back for basic stacker trg Jan 91. Fooking great place, Sticky carpets, restoration, kerry arms and the travellers rest. Oh and don't forget PWOG mess (Prince William Of Gloucester) Not hard to see why the SAS wanted the place to them selves.
