Swinders Mar 83:PDT_Xtremez_31: But like a lot of others Locking was the place

Swinderby Aug till Oct 91, 9 Flt Gibson Block.
service number .8421...

Then Hereford for Supply trade training Oct 91-Dec 91(seemed like loads of people from my Swinderby intake were there either as Stackers or Shinies.
Back to Hereford again for SC course in May 93. Basic Supply training at Hereford was one of the best times of my life.

Now added to the above is Basic Recruit Training for the RauxAF Regiment at Honington April 07, fantastic 2 weeks.

I'm not old but I went to RAF Swinderby in March 1970 in the days when you were issued with button sticks, button brushes, greatcoats, collar detatched shirts, braces & underpants cellular.:PDT_Xtremez_31:

Swinderby Sept 87 - remeber it like it was yesterday.:raf:

However, it is a known fact the only spiritual home of shinys/data ans and stackers is Hereford. It just didn't matter how crap your cse was you always had a great time - the YTS of the same time may say different with their marching (every fourth step stamp) type ankle injuries.:PDT_Xtremez_42:

The best times going to the sticky carpet, going in pubs you were expressly banned from and the main one us data ans - watching all the PABCs/P&As and suppliers running up Credon Hill because your course had to be over 6 weeks to do it!!!!! :PDT_Xtremez_28:

He left it that late? There was one bloke on the other flight that made up our Sqn, he packed his kit up and legged it on the first night, the scuffers caught him when he was half way to Lincoln.

As for cutting my teeth...I guess that was Mount Batten. The naivety of youth. You think you know it all and you are all so grown up.But it is not until you look back that you realise how young you were and how little you knew.
