And Does Any One Remember The Pt Kit? The T Shirts After One Wash Looked Like Something Freddy Mercury Would Wear Showing Off Your Nips And Belly Button!

Hi all,

Hereford for me, (YTS) Nov 90 can't remember much about it other than the feckrin cold, cretin hill and red mud turning white daps a nasty shade of mingin. (oh and £17 ish quid a week) cnuts!

Swinderby August 2nd (or was it 3rd, can't remember) 1983.. 4 Flight. All had o wear blue towelling cravat things for our MFT... hottest bloody summer I can remember with all that casevac crap at North Luffenham!
We had a bloke who was about 7 foot bloody tall who left after he wouldn't jump off of the benches in the gym obstacle course thing because they were.... too high!!

Studly dangerfcuk... you a fairy???? If so, I remember you matey and I can confirm that you had a brass buckle... you never polished the damn thing - same as your shoes!

Brings back memories of non tailored uniforms. Called up for NS in the Royal Artillery and kitted out at Oswestry. Kit thrown at you in the stores and next morning lined up in one long file. A Major came along and walked up and the line for a while, had a last look and astounded us all with, "You change your tunic with him, you change your trousers with him" and this went on for about an hour until he was satisfied. It was almost a cultural shock when we went to the tailors to have our uniforms fitted at Cardington (Those of us who were ex brown jobs, that is)

Canberra man

Swinderby - Sept 88. 14 Flt if failing memory serves. I remember our Sgt DI looked like a fat Freddie Mercury & the Cpl DI looked like death warmed up.

Spiritual home has to be Hereford for stacker training - very happy days!

Swinderby, Jan 76-Mar76, bleeding cold followed by St Athan, bleeding Welsh

Swinderby

Swinderby

Swinderby, 12FLT 1976, complete with bomb scares because Bobby Sands et al were hunger striking and 200 plus recruits with flu. Old but thankfully not bald.

Swinderby 16 flt oct 1989 for me and iff it's all the same to you I'm trying to forget those 6 weeks of my life

Swinderby - 9th september 90 - 25mp90

Ickle taff DI sgt who was just getting out - I think we were his last intake. He flogged the fake aftershave (although Jazz was close to the real thing). Our Cpl was a retread from TCO to DI, doesnt say an awful lot for former tg11 does it!

I missed the sport week as I had to do MFT with the intake behind, after spending a week in confinement in the med centre with scarlet fever. God that was fun - not!:PDT_Xtremez_08: :PDT_Xtremez_08: :PDT_Xtremez_08:

Halton 17mp95 easiest weeks of my life. apart from when a thick Janner sleepwalked out of the top floor window and landed in the med centre (eventually) for a loooong time, he was going thru Tossford as a mech when we went back on the cushy fitters course. Yes I did have a reallly good screw of the system, has it got better?? No

Left in 2003 with a knackered spine and a really bad guinness and whisky habit. Lossie wasn't a total loss then.

Cant remember Flight number as it was so long ago

Nov 86

Lewis Block

B**d was the Di Cpl with a certain Sgt R****n as the Snec.

I can always remember his Flight chat after our passing out......how the bad bugger turned to Mr nice afterwards, he turned out to be a nice bloke.

Edited by Wobbly: Even though you could actually see one of the persons mentioned together with his name, present rank and his present station in the RAF News a few months back.....which by the way you can buy at any WH Smiths. I apologise to auchtermuchty for my lack of professionalism over something 21 years ago :)

And no reporting me for mentioning and reading RAF News either ;)
