Any one fancy a new no fly zone det to Aki?

BBC saying if the UN vote yes to the no fly zone over Lybia (in the next hr or so) then RAF Jets could be in action over the contry tomorrow!!!!!!

I know were good but unless theres a hidden sqn or two out there then I very much doubt it!!!!!

SDSR (didnt see this comming did yah!)

Liam Fox has just confirmed, we're deploying to Gioa Del Colle in the next 24 hours...

Got a link?

Things are never as good the 2nd time round, prolly be in the Hotel Gioia this time round as a cost saving measure...

I bet they don't moan about that det.........Jammy buggers!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Unbelievably some people used to though....amazingly I witnessed moaning on a NFU OOA and as part of a squadron....

Well done the tonka's and the tankers. Not withstanding the efforts of the tonka's in afgan. It must be a real effort in lossie and marham to support another det.

The Army spokesman chap was very downbeat of the bombing sortie stats. The reporter was trying to get some emotion from him he just could not be positive. Army C**t.

I do hope our boys n girls don't get done over with allowances in Gioia and have to fund their own way through an op det. It will be also interesting to see how many cling on officers come out of the woodwork to fill made up jobs, instead of taking enough lineys, stackers and bowser drivers.

Jolly well done chaps.:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Well there is at least one, TBJ is going....

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet but the Arab League are a bit p1ss3ed because we bombed the sh1t out Libya's defences first. What the fcuk do they expect a no fly zone to incorporate? Biggles in a hot air baloon shouting "hey dear chap, please be a gent and park your jet back at base. toot toot"

They have their own jets if they want to do it themselves. Clueless kn0b jockey's. Good job they have shed loads of oil.

Their comments are political rather than meaningful...No matter what we do for them we are still infidels through their eyes so they have to be seen putting down what we do...Scratch the surface and you'd find them actually thinking 'phew! we couldn't have done that in that time or indeed at all because we have all the gear andno idea'.

First deployment of a UK-based EAW? Time to see if the concept works.

Best wishes to all deploying to conduct operations over Libya (and envy). And not forgetting those continuing to project the nation's air power on operations in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and at home (and those not formally on ops but also serving the nation).

The spokesman is also a future candidate for the Egyptian elections that are coming up so he is trying to not look like a puppet of the west. They are not stupid men who run the Arab league so when they asked for it (which we wanted anyway) they knew the scope of what was about to happen. It would be nice of them to say "good start lads but please remember to keep the ground forces out"

Its a double edge sword cosying up to the Arab nations, a bit of an agree to disagree situation whilst we take thier oil and they take our money. When one runs out, be it the lack of oil or energy from other sources it really will kick off.

Good to hear the crews got back safely and good luck to the ones that are going over the next few weeks or months. Lets get the Arabs to form a peace keeping force and they police thier own for once.

French official: Qatar planes to join international operation against Libya within hours.

I bet the MCSU (do we still have them) are packing up their pots an' pans and cooking ranges - and are now hot-footing it to an AT airbase then onto Joy on the Hill in Puglia.....

Keep it cheap.....Just work, food and sleep.
