I wear a full rubber suit in which I am sealed with two thousand small ball bearings and 8 tins of Swarfega. I don’t go out in it, just roll around on the floor.

It’s a hobby.......

In which case I demand the government supply me with a blue wig, something nice, not too bushy.

Surely someone with your level of follical deficiency must have a plethora of wigs, rugs and other hairpieces - coloured for every mood and every eventuality? :p :p :p

So who doesn't think the media should not challenge the government when they blatantly lie to the public

From Sky news

Britain only made a formal request to Turkey over a consignment of personal protective equipment on Sunday - the day after a cabinet minister announced the "very significant additional shipment" was already heading to the UK, Turkish sources have told Sky News.

Robert Jenrick, the housing secretary, said at the daily Downing Street press briefing on Saturday that 84 tonnes of the gear, including 400,000 urgently needed clinical gowns, would arrive in the UK from Turkey the following day.

It failed to materialise, but no explanation for the delay was given.

In fact two sources have told Sky News that no formal request was made to the Turkish authorities - who were not supplying the shipment, but whose help was sought to get it to the UK - until Sunday

Also

Government lies yet again

Interesting that when you look at the Sky News bulletin on the same subject, it states "On the Turkish side, two sources said a formal request from the UK related to the PPE consignment was not made until Sunday and the Turkish authorities immediately assisted", yet doesnt actually indicate who those sources are and whether they were actually involved in any discussions between the Turkish and UK Governments on this. (LINK to Sky News article)

Still, I suppose its easier to call them liars rather than acknowledge that Ministers are sometimes given information to brief by individuals who havent done their job properly..........

When have sources ever been named.
This from the same sky news article.

the manufacturer only applied for a license to move the equipment on Monday.

..........said yet another unnamed source, according to that thar same article.
What reporter names their sources. If they did no one would ever say anything to reporters. Imagine if deep throat was named what Nixon would have done to him. Do you want to sources to be named.

In this instance why is there a need to hide them? If it is true and the Government really has a*sed it up then the sources have nothing to hide.

My personal view is that its more than likely than the person doing the actual legwork and engaging with the Turks has conveyed a message up the chain and that message has either been misconstrued or miscommunicated or (and more likely) someone has put spin on it to make it look like the situation is actually better than what it really is.

Still, as I said, its probably easier to leap on this as "government lying" - gets more attention from the public that way I guess.

It's all b0llocks...

One thing I learned from the last GE is just how infiltrated, nay swamped, social media and especially FB and Twitter is with Left wingers. The week before the GE I could have been convinced that it was going to be a close run thing. If a Tory supporter dared to break cover they were drowned in a tirade of 'Gammon', 'racist', 'facist' etc etc. Both platforms were full of links to just how bad the Torys really were from a plethora of colourful sites and blogs...it seemed to be a done deal that the polls were wrong, that Corbyn might just pull this off as seemingly a huge swathe of the UK had hidden its intent and was going to vote red. I follow a poll tracker website and that was suggestting a 40 seat Tory majority pretty much from the time Bo-Jo got into power but I was still wondering if these polls were wrong.

Wake up the morning after the polls have closed and we know the result....a brutal political pistol whipping followed by being bent over a workman's bench and being violated without the courtesy of lubricant. My poll forecast was out by 100% but in the positive direction...what gives? What gives is that social media belongs, largely to the left. Its the only platform they have when you think about the number they have sat in Parliament and the presence they have on there is still huge, vitriolic and often downright evil. Its just a part of life and as many say you can scroll on by as they scrape around for anything to be twisted and distorted.

I still follow that website which is here. It takes the results of pretty much every poll, including ones from the Guardian et al, and turns then into a prediction for the next election as it stands today...Right now and based on polls as recent as the past couple of days it predicting a landslide 156 seat Tory majority. So somewhere they are getting it right in the eyes of a huge majority of the populace?

Shouting down or closing out those different opinions is a normally a tool of those with an extreme view point, or those who find it hard to see the view point of others.

Shouting people down doesn’t change their viewpoint, debate and reasoned argument does that, but it does knock them out of overt society, which is why the press and social media don’t reflect the mood of the nation.
