6 Sqn Efforts

6 Sqn Efforts

As Nicks Mates has stated;

6 had a collection at their HAS bash on Thursday...

Between 700 and 800 was raised.

Two of our guys are running the Conz 10K this week. They have already been pledged about 1200. I was going to get their sponsorship forms advertized on the Goat, but the guy couldn't get a soft copy to me.

We have been on standdown until Tuesday.

If anybody reckons they could get sections to support these guys, I will get them the forms and contact details if they can PM me on Tuesday early, with service e-mail details or if civvy, I can PM the form back.........:PDT_Xtremez_28:

The Fund has now reached an amazing

£1018.48

Please keep the donations coming in. Many thanks to all those that have kindly donated so far.

I'm sure I speak for all the mods and admin here when I say a massive thank you to everybody who has helped with this appeal so far.
But we will not rest just because we have broken the £1000 barrier, there is still a lot to be done to ensure Nick get's the help he desperately needs.

Thats incredible!

It makes me feel really proud to be part of this community.

Well done to everyone. Keep giving.

Serious Question re Nicks cause

Serious Question re Nicks cause

I have donated and am very for the cause of this fund but theoretically...

Serious Question for any 'Scribblies' out there re nicks cause.

Would it be possible on paper to post Nick to another camp where he would be under a different NHS trust that is known to fund this drug?

This would be the best gift 'The Service' could give, and possibly save someone's life.

Please don't treat me as being posby on this one; it's a serious question that may help if we can get drafters / doctors and medis on side. In the service we may be able to get around the health care post code lottery this way. I assume nick is with family and don't wish to delve too deep into his circumstances but he could 'on paper' be made to belong to a different health board, possibly Germany even if is it not funded in the uk. Even if the move were required to overseas for treatment the fund could assist family support while his treatment is cost is covered elsewhere.

Obviously this would be the ideal as at £700+ per week unless an unusually large amount of money comes in the goats efforts will not last long.

I've dragged this forward from page 5 of this thread for you and others to catch up:

We have cheques coming in - about £200 a day at the mo. Some really nice people out there; many of whom definitely can't afford it (OAPs etc).

We've got all of the aviation press on it.

We've got some airshows thinking about donating a proportion of their takings.

We did a collection at the 6 Sqn HAS bash the other day, and a couple of 6 Sqn engineers are doing sponsored bike rides/runs.

The RAF News is doing a front page next issue, we think. The journo turned up yesterday. She should be mentioning the fund, the paypal account, and the e-goat poster.

We're working on some newspapers as well.

Too many ideas to follow up immediately, but we're ploughing through them.

We were told that the RAF is trying to post him to Scotland, but before they do that, they're checking that it will actually work for him. RAF docs checking with NHS.
Massive thanks to all the goaters who are helping. We have taken all your ideas and will action them all as best we can.

We will canvas Station Commanders on whether they are in a position to help.

Any JPA experts know if we can use the system to danoate 1/2 a days' pay or something. Will make life easy for people who are finding it difficult to donate any other way. PM us, please.

Cheers,

Nick's Mates

Hope this explains a few things and helps...

.

TT,

The drug has not been approved for any NHS Health Trust.

Well to use the figures floating about.....

E-Goat has taken in online donations, very close to 2 weeks worth of Cetuximab

But more impressive than that. Nick said he needs approx £15,000 to see if Cetuximab even works. We're not far off 10% of that figure!!!!!!

Well done all!! But there's still work to do......

Well guys that is one fantastic effort and shows what can be achieved by sparing some free time to help a mate.

How about a few more camps getting in on the act?

Again very well done you 3 and thanks.
