BZN TG4 meet said all promo boards have been cut.

Yes like last years ? and one 3 years ago. Pinch of salt needed again as always.

I could believe it, and the way stuff has gone for me over the last 6 years of boards I could well believe it.lol High up there with small quotas and years they cut it and lower down when they get a few through the door.
Why have a TG4 meeting at BZN now do they not realise we have all moved north?

Lets start a count of the numbers turning it down! it could well be switch off time for me.

Cpl-Sgt is now only up to 72, the rest go back into the melting pot for next year.

Well i know two people that came off in the 60's and neither of them have received an offer as yet. Keep the faith people.

The meeting was at Brize because there was a TG4 lunch in the mess (invites went out to those in striking distance of Brize). The drafters were invited along as it's always nice to keep them happy and I may well need a posting somewhere warm soon.

When will they learn

When will they learn to either keep their mouths shut or release the information properly?
Remember the "no promotion for 4 years" comment.

If all the quotas have been cut then let people know, that way I wont have to badger them when I get back off leave to get the latest.

Why 72? and not the 110 (?or whatever it was)

I've not heard a specific number mentioned, manning are not expecting to reach 110, the origional estimate, but didn't commit to a actual figure (no one can know exactly where they'll get to until everyone has been offered and accepted the available promotions).

In response to a couple of threads. The chap asking about if someone is in the 60's+ will that not hear anything until Jan - i.e. to coincide with when the current batch are expected to be taking up post. Then nothing hard and fast. It is September now so things could change, people turn it down, people don't have enough service left etc. This would inevitably see another release and it could also see in Manning asking for people to waive 90 days. The positives here are that they are at half way on the board in a short space of time. However, with a proportion of posts being handed back to the RAF over the next 18 months it could be that things slow up, it really is the waiting game I suppose at the minute.

I was at the BZN brief and no concrete figures were set, and let's be honest when have we known Manning to commit themselves to something? The anticipation is still to release between 70-80. This is being driven by the NATO review that has just finished, and I get the feeling that it is positive rather than negative and as such the 70-80 is actually better than they last thought maybe?

Chatting with someone today, I hear that another 5-6 Sgt's have been released to the FS board also. Once those offers go out then maybe we will see a few more Cpl-Sgt offers getting sent out.

Finally, how many people on this thread have had first hand experience of what the guys down there are having to run with each day? I was fortunate enough (through a contact) to sit in for a few hours with our desk. The guys there are playing a constant juggling act with people. One call came in from a guy after a move, and I could see on the screen that there were no jobs in that area. 5 mins later another call came in with someone looking for a move, guess what, he was in the area that the other chap wanted to go to! Needless to say the drafter then got back on the phone and sorted that guy out.

Top tip for everyone though, don't try and get hold of the drafter by phone if you know they have been on leave or guard- it was one guys first day back after guard (and even trying to keep on top of stuff whilst not stagging on) he came back to just shy of 200 emails from people.

Anyway, hopefully I have given you all a bit of gen that will help out a bit. I will keep my ear to the ground and through my mate, if I get any good gen then you can be sure I will get it up on here for you all.

Thanks for the information, as always would just be nice to know but just have to sit tight.

My personal experience of the drafters is that they have always tried to accomodate my preferences and ive been lucky. Probably won't last but never mind, its all a big adventure.

Thanks for the update RAFBlue... :PDT_Xtremez_14:
Nice to read a thread that was well writen and coherent.

The news, however, wasn't too great. I came off the board at 116 and was hoping for at least 14 "Turn Downs" from the original 102 qouta.. Now if they are only looking at between 60 and 90, (Depending on which rumour you decide to look at), then looks like I am back in the pot for another year.. Woo Hoo..,. I love this Job!.... Just a shame it doesn't love me back!

Spamout:PDT_Xtremez_32:

nice update

nice update

Yes Nice update.
Spammy you wouldn't want to get picked up anyway.
I have seen how much stress you get as a SNCO and Messes are all rubbish now too.

There is really no reason to take promotion now.
And that message goes out to everyone else on the list above me.

TURN IT DOWN IT WILL ONLY LEAD TO PAIN AND A CRAP POSTING....
HONEST IT WILL TURN IT DOWN, TURN IT DOWN, TURN IT DOWN!

I guess you can tell I am not expecting them to get to me now. Although I will be hoping for a call even if it's May next year.

Expect a flurry of overseas posts to appear on the Manning site in the next few weeks, mainly for Sgt's with the odd FS and WO. Sorry to the Cpl's and SAC's but not much happening there at the minute.

In turn this will also a bit of movement on the Cpl-Sgt, Sgt-FS and FS-WO board. Whilst it is unlikely that Manning will reach the quotas at least it may see them get a little closer than they originally thought?

Nothing else to report really at the minute but as always I will keep getting the gen for you and passing it on.

I noticed that, funny how a lot of them are for ex TG3 only. There was me thinking that we were all the same now . . . . apparently not.

You are referring to the ones that are being advertised now. The new ones will be to fill posts in Feb 11 onwards and are predominantly for TG4 (non of this TG3 or TG11 malarky).

The thing holding it up is that Manning are not getting much support from NATO to confirm that they have got the review right. The worst thing they could do is trawl for a load of people to take up posts only to find out the posts don't exist.

You will probably find the drafters won't have been given any job specs either so the roles and responsibilities will have to be created by whoever goes into the job first. If you want a challenge I think you will find it with these positions. I would be all over it if I knew I could get away from my job, but hey, it is all in the timing I guess.

Any updates?

Any updates?

Any more news, saw the new slots being trawled for so guess there may be a dozen more offers out this week?

RafBlue? any updates for on here?

I don't know what number they are up to now, however, I still haven't received any offers yet and I'm in the late 30s and released to the psl back in August.

Maybe you have already been penciled in somewhere if you have "seasoned skills" due to time served, or maybe with the announcements due this month they may be looking at getting rid of people and signing individuals on near their 22 would be counter intuitive? just a thought.

All, PSL is up to number 65. Some personnel released in earlier batches have still to be found posts and then given an offer, unfortunately for them (and not for discussion here) Manning are still not able to rectify this for the short term. The latest release 56-65 is to fill some forthcoming vacancies at various locations, this is probably only 3 or 4 people, the others have been released in anticipation of FS-WO and Sgt-FS releases happening in the the same timeframe.
The great NATO review has caused carnage. Manning were not informed that the process will not be complete on JPA until Dec 10. Therefore any new NATO posts will not be guaranteed until Jan 11 and then trawled for. Those trawls that were started have now been removed, other than any that are to fill known future vacancies, ie people at the end of their tour.
Nothing else to report for now - SDSR may keep the Manners busy for the next day or two?

maybe?

maybe?

Not for TG4 Drafters. Except a few slots at the soon to be closed camps and I am 99% sure the SNCO's who have been rooted in that area for the last 10 years will not be moving anywhere but civvie street, so may be on Gardening leave for a while.
