Pay Rise 2009

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
"Chancellor Gordon Brown said the settlements reflected the Government's determination to keep the lid on public sector pay."

Might be a bit of a clue why it's dated 2003!

Keep digging

AFPRB submitted its report to the PM and SofS on 29 Jan 09. The government has apparently announced that it will only award one public sector a pay rise this year, but which one is yet to be announced.

Welcome to the goat, I think you'll find all the points above have been more than covered in the previous 27 pages.

I'm resigned to the fact that we'll be told at the latest possible moment, and when you realise that we don't get the dosh until the last working day in April, it could be some time yet.

How can we make plans when we don't know what we are going to get?

Allowances review?

Allowances review?

In addition to the Pay rise will this review not also include an increase/decrease in allowances and accommodation fees?
Given that Petrol is going up 2p a litre on the 1st of April and many people are being detached away on an on going basis the allowances need to be updated on MJDI, and published so people know how much they are entitled to claim or are we to expect a freeze on the allowances as well?

Didn't you mean JPA? :PDT_Xtremez_19:

Allowances are reviewed in August Robby, not part of AFPRB remit.

I really don't see what you are all whinging about. I work for the love of the job not financial gain....I'd do this for free..

Call me cynical if you want but the B*****ds go on Easter recess on the 2 Apr for a couple of weeks, so what’s the betting they announce the pay awards at 1645 on 1 Apr!:PDT_Xtremez_25:

Fomz you've gone and made me a little bit turgid with those pictures, especially the pants I think I may have to replace my whole underwear drawer (that's right, both pairs)

Im not with all things parliment but does the Prime Minister have to be present when they announce public sector pay rises. Its just he has gone on some whirwind holiday to south america so that puts an end to announcement soon ?

Reliably informed today (Ch Clk) that the pay awards for 2009 have been uploaded onto JPA and will go live in due course. When in due course is, is anyones guess, but have to be live by the 3rd of the month in order to meet the first pay-run of the month, the 10th being the second. This still doesn't mean we won't find out until its all too late. It's not as if we can complain now is it, or is it. The ploice have a federation that looks after their interest, maybe we should get one or have we got already???? Now theres a spooky thought.

I think you'll find there is a section on JPA where you can see your salary, so if JPA has been updated, it will show you new salary on there already.

JPA can be updated now as the last pay run on the financial year has been done.
