Pay Rise 2009

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Thats a start at least!!!!!!!

So 2.8%................. but what will the airman get, as they usually get more off the coat tails of the army.....

I'm lower Cpl level 7 and go from 24,963.60 to 25,662.60 so a 2.8% change.

Are you sure about your figures a level seven Cpl gets £28458.50:PDT_Xtremez_25:, unless you are a shinny who gets the higher pay band which I am sure you are not because shinneys can read otherwise they wouldn't be on the higher level!!

Those figure are minus X factor.

No X factor included in those figures. The increase to the higher pay band is not showing at the moment, but I wouldn't expect it to until after the 1st.

X-factor is 14% of basic pay, up to Wg Cdr, for regular and FTRS. However, there's no guarantee that it will remain 14% come 1 Apr...

Latest from the Press Association http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5g-2v5yPJ9BZZl3TJihc3NF0vl_XA:

A Downing Street spokesman said: "As the Treasury have been making clear, there have been no decisions yet on public sector pay. The Government is considering the recommendations of the pay review bodies and will make an announcement in due course."

This statement decoded:

"no decisions yet" = "We've lost the paddles, the canoe has loads of holes in it and we're in the middle of a South Atlantic storm!"
"Government is considering the recommendations " = "How do we tell the public we've spent it all on Fred Goodwin, Tony McNulty, and the 2:15 at Sandown?"
"will make an announcement in due course" = "We are praying for a huge natural disaster/terrorist attack/the second coming"

Not quite sure how you got a connection between that dying and bad news.

Unless you had today on the sweepstake in which case, unlucky.

Have to say I agree. I Think the government are simply taking their time because they haven't figured out a way to say "F$%K YOU" politely.

I'm not expecting great things, will another kick in the teeth be all it takes to start the next round of PVR's?

On my resettlement, so well chilled and taking it easy.........but, updating myself on the thread and it hit me that we are due a pay rise in 1 week and we still don't know what it is!

Can anybody remember the days when you had managers with leadership, people you respected, people you knew were looking out for you and had your best interests at heart?

It all seems so long ago!! Worse than a joke now me's thinks!

As already mentioned in this post it'll be interesting to see if they start spouting "inflation busting" pay rises in comparison to RPI when for years they've used CPI as the benchmark. As RPI today was 0% and CPI hit 3.2% would we take that as a decent pay rise? I notice many private sector workers already on the war path saying that public sector workers should be prepared to accept low or no pay rises due to the current economic climate - funny thing is I didn't hear them saying that we should be getting better pay rises when times were good and they were raking it in whilst we were getting royally shafted!
