Pay Rise 2009

I am completley F@CKED OFF with this, Harriet Harman answered a direct question during PMQ's yesterday on when the AFPRB 09 would be announced she said words to the effect that there was a whole days debate on defence today and it would answer the members question.

SHE LIED in parliament that is the most serious offence an MP can be found guilty of.

The longer we wait the more labour bury themselves, can landlords impose rises in rent on properties with only 5 days notice?(If FMQ's rent are to rise as of 01 Apr 09) Be interesting to find that one out, any lawyers out there?

She didnt, she dodged the question.

The extract from Hansard is:

Q5. [266013] Mr. Philip Dunne (Ludlow) (Con): The Armed Forces Pay Review Body submitted its report to the Prime Minister on 29 January. Why should our personnel serving in the field still have no idea whether they will get any pay rise by Wednesday next week? Does the delay reflect more about the Government’s attitude towards the armed forces, or is it another example of dithering incompetence?
Ms Harman: The Government have been unswerving, and rightly so, in our commitment to our armed forces. The Minister of State for Defence will open a full day’s debate on the armed services tomorrow, and I am sure that he will address that point.

Mr Dunne gave Harriet Harperson far to much wriggle room, so her answer could be interpreted to mean the point the Minister would address would be: the Governments attitude to the Armed Forces; or when a pay rise was likely to be announced.

Don't get me wrong I am not defending HH, her answer and the snivelling performance by the minister today reflect their regard for the Armed Forces, then again will it improve? I didn't see the Tories pushing them hard on any points and judging by the number of MPs that turned up it is the whole of Parliment that treats us with disdain.

One months notice is required to increase rent which is paid monthly under a standard rent agreement and the housing act.

Unbelievably it is not illegal for an MP to lie in the House of Commons, but under guidance notes it is to be avoided as it "undermines the integrity" of the house. MP's are advised to be as forthright and honest as possible and to avoid misleading the house......... it doesn't say you can't lie though.

OMG, if I lie at work in the military or in Civvie street it would most probably be classed as misconduct, but for MPs it's OK!

I'll be as honest as possible then to avoid misleading anyone: All politicians are wank*rs.

Got email from work today too that was telling everyone to be patient and an announcement would be made soon! If I applied that same reason to a jet awaiting to take off Im sure the crew would be pretty ****ed off and questions asked !!

Everyone is really hacked of with this delayed announcement , what is the reason ? A smoking gun somewhere maybe and cant wait to find the reason unless its good then nobody will give a hoot.

Either that Harriet Harman wench is a horse , she got ripped to **** by Willie Hague yesterday and looked so out of her depth , embarrasing indeed for Labour , its just crumbling around them , fukctards

Angry and annoyed also are the public sector workers in the same boat too , like nurses cops and everyone else ?

Most of them are tied into 3 year deals, saw today that MOD civillians 3 year deal is 3.8%,3.7 and 3.7 so they're laughing wonder if we'll match that? Civvies working next to Servicemen and the civvies get a higher payrise?

But what is 3.7% of a civvies lower wage when compared to 3.7% of our higher wage?

Well, I'm resigned to the thought that we are getting cuff all! This country is skint and the only winners are the fat cat ex-bankers who have single handed fleeced our much deserved pay rise! Cynical? No. Realism? Yup!

Advised? Avoid? So its Ok as long as its Unavoidable to lie? Why the hell are they not TOLD not to lie?

What the fcuk sort of system have we actually got here?

Good point, here's a link on the very subject: http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/9043,features,it-should-be-unlawful-for-mps-to-lie

It has come up time and time again, the generally agreed reason is that politicians can't do their job properly if they can't lie. To think, we used to consider ourselves as the height of civilised society with a system of government for the world to envy................. turns out it's just all bollox and self serving, with some not inconsiderable luck you may end up with an honest and hard working MP, chances are they will just be a lying thieving scumbag though.

3.7% is 3.7 %

Do you work in admin?

Wonderment!

Wonderment!

The Basrah sunset this evening was beautiful, tranquility on earth, balmy and no mossies around to nibble my alcohol free blood stream! So howcome my blood was boiling? Am I getting a payrise or not? thats why! If our masters in government can bail out the banks to the tune of £100 billion, surely they can throw caution to the wind and chuck us guys a 2.5% cheers fellas and girlies!
Feeling undervalued...just a bit !!! We may not have a union, but we do have a Vote!!

Whatever happened to that armed forces federation that was around about 2 years ago? This sort of thing is made for an org like that...if it went anywhere...
