Pay Rise 2009

i read on that report that quarters are going up by certain percentages depending on grade standard.

is it legal to give a days notice of a rent increase?

Sorry Fomz but I'm not going to Tug my forelock at the politicians and say thankyou for what is agreed, a reasonable payrise for the moment if they hadn't taken advantage of us over the past few years.
To cap it all they are still eroding service life by increasing rent by 3.7%. Why has the operating costs of Defence Housing gone up 3.7%. So my 2.8% is already slightly down garage rent knocks it again. Reading the report they state that retention is not all about money and although my two examples are they are pointing again to the Govt putting spin on a payrise that does not reflect the past year and seeing how cheap they can make the payrise bill.

Why are you bumping your gums about MQ rent now? you're still paying less (only just) than a council house tennent. I've got my own gaff and all the cr@p that goes with that. You didn't see me moaning when the interest rates rocketed in the last two years and I could only just afford my mortgage...

Sorry mate, but it wasn't an Irish pay rise, you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some.

I'm not saying its great, but it could have been A LOT worse.......

for my next trick I will be predicting lottery numbers and the winner of the grand national on saturday

had a bit of a chuckle reading back through the thread, there are some untrusting buggers on here!

Bumping gums?? Whose fault is it for is it for having his own gaff and all that goes with it? poor you, my heart bleeds purple ****.

Whose fault is it for taking out a mortgage that they could not afford taking into account possible interest rate rises and the inevitably bursting of the bubble that only greedy people could not see!

Perhaps if those people with no roof over their head had not been so greedy they would still have a house. As for having a job perhaps if those greedy people had not got up their eyes in debt the country would not be in such a mess

He is quite right to be concerned about the rises in married quarters etc, counting the pennies, perhaps if other people followed his lead they might no be in such a mess. No sympathy.

Bla Bla Bla.

Works both ways... mortgage increases - MQ charge increases, people are still out of pocket, but its a fact of life

BTW, I'm not moaning about the mortgage rate increase, I had enough disposable income to cover it, as do all those living in MQ's on rockstar wages on the MQ charge increase. Some people forget, there are a lot of people out there doing a lot worse than the members of HMF.

Sometimes it pays to remember that.

To be fair we are getting more the senior civil servants and MP's. Over the last 6 months nearly everything has come down in price so 2.8% is a nice surprise for me.

Is it confirmed that the LSA levels are being tweaked in our favour as well?

You be taking the p155 a bit there I think as 2.3% of 60k goes further than 2.8% of 23k.

So just how are we getting more than senior civil servants and MP's??

I actually do own my own Gaff and paid my mortgage when rates were high.. Finished now and suffering from depreciation, crap savings income and upped rent as I don't get a second homes allowance to live where the RAF sends me. (That's maybe a little unfair as this is my area of choice) my point is that I'm not going to be over the moon about another rise where the rules have been changed again to suit the powers above. As for the way the journo's are describing the pay round making it seem that ministers are getting no rise, they still get their MP's wage +2.33% is getting a little on my nerves, I feel that there is a little spin doctoring going on in the background.

2.8% eh? Ill soon be able to afford that executive villa at Clackton on Sea!

You will notice that I am by no means a regular contributer to these forums, despite being an avid reader. However, it does strike me that over the past few weeks/months that FOMz is becoming increasingly hostile/rude to other contributors who do not seem to hold his viewpoint.
I am sure that his, like others, viewpoints are a valuable source of discussion but to start with ' Why are you bumping your gums' seems to be OTT.
Before I incur the wrath, I would like to say that I have had to pay the mortgage with high interest rates, whilst being posted to a camp not of my choice, (not on promotion) no extra money, not willing to sell my house for a low price etc while having to pay for a MQ and yes, it is a pain in the ar*e, but I would still not turn round and say to someone expressing a view that, 'you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some.'
Highly condascending some might think, me in particular!

Other members of this community hold such condescending tones when posting, I am not saying FoMz is but why does him being a mod prevent him from posting an opinion in whatever style he chooses? Has he personally abused anyone? No he told someone to stop bumping his gums, better break out the stocks everyone!

Just because we are mods does not stop us expressing ourselves in just the same way as everyone else on these boards, so singling him out for special treatment isnt very nice, but then again as you say, your not a regular contributor, I mean you could be anyone with an axe to grind really couldnt you!

I trusted you SgtScribbly. I had 2.8% in the sweepstake at work, and won a few beers on Saturday. Cheers!!!

Some of the changes to allowances are as follows:

Day Subsistence now £27.01 no change to Incidental Expenses still £5 (UK) £10 (OS).

LSA:

Level 1 Upto 340 = £6.56
Level 2 341 - 580 = £10.25
Level 3 581 - 820 = £13.96
Level 4 821 - 1060 =£15.32
Level 5 1061 - 1300 = £16.50
Level 6 1301 - 1540 = £17.68

Child Element = £138

About the only good news bit for today - pay statement put me at 580 days yesterday so now it's level 3 LSA baby (I know, get some time in......! Nice to see how the AFPRB was snuck under the radar at the last minute though - methinks next time the AFPRB go on tour for the 39th report a ffrank and honest level of ranting should be expressed about how we were 'mushroomed' for the 38th.....

Nice to see the top brass are adhering to their corporate communications strategy and making sure we are all up to date on the issues we care about. Barstewards.

A bit like your post then huh? I'm allowed an opinion, sorry you don't agree with it - but thats life. As this is a virtual crewroom, people will have varying opinions, a fact of life.

As for my post that said - you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some, its true. Look around outside the 'HMF bubble' some time, you may see it. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Thanks for the reply that confirms my thoughts of you.
You are perhaps one of the reasons that people ie my workmates, don't bother with e-goat anymore and also why the Top Brass who read the Forums, pay little attention to people like you who just offer risible views.
But hey, that's just my personal opinion from within the HMF bubble that I have been contained within for the last 19 years!

Thanks for the reply that confirms my thoughts of you.

It seems to me, you don't like other peoples opinions that are different from your own, but then again whats the point of having a discussion forum if people aren't allowed differning opinions.. the world would be such a boring place.
