i read on that report that quarters are going up by certain percentages depending on grade standard.
is it legal to give a days notice of a rent increase?

Sorry Fomz but I'm not going to Tug my forelock at the politicians and say thankyou for what is agreed, a reasonable payrise for the moment if they hadn't taken advantage of us over the past few years.
To cap it all they are still eroding service life by increasing rent by 3.7%. Why has the operating costs of Defence Housing gone up 3.7%. So my 2.8% is already slightly down garage rent knocks it again. Reading the report they state that retention is not all about money and although my two examples are they are pointing again to the Govt putting spin on a payrise that does not reflect the past year and seeing how cheap they can make the payrise bill.
Why are you bumping your gums about MQ rent now? you're still paying less (only just) than a council house tennent. I've got my own gaff and all the cr@p that goes with that. You didn't see me moaning when the interest rates rocketed in the last two years and I could only just afford my mortgage...
Sorry mate, but it wasn't an Irish pay rise, you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some.
I'm not saying its great, but it could have been A LOT worse.......
To be fair we are getting more the senior civil servants and MP's. Over the last 6 months nearly everything has come down in price so 2.8% is a nice surprise for me.
Is it confirmed that the LSA levels are being tweaked in our favour as well?

for my next trick I will be predicting lottery numbers and the winner of the grand national on saturday
had a bit of a chuckle reading back through the thread, there are some untrusting buggers on here!
Some of the changes to allowances are as follows:
Day Subsistence now £27.01 no change to Incidental Expenses still £5 (UK) £10 (OS).
LSA:
Level 1 Upto 340 = £6.56
Level 2 341 - 580 = £10.25
Level 3 581 - 820 = £13.96
Level 4 821 - 1060 =£15.32
Level 5 1061 - 1300 = £16.50
Level 6 1301 - 1540 = £17.68
Child Element = £138
You will notice that I am by no means a regular contributer to these forums, despite being an avid reader. However, it does strike me that over the past few weeks/months that FOMz is becoming increasingly hostile/rude to other contributors who do not seem to hold his viewpoint.
I am sure that his, like others, viewpoints are a valuable source of discussion but to start with ' Why are you bumping your gums' seems to be OTT.
Before I incur the wrath, I would like to say that I have had to pay the mortgage with high interest rates, whilst being posted to a camp not of my choice, (not on promotion) no extra money, not willing to sell my house for a low price etc while having to pay for a MQ and yes, it is a pain in the ar*e, but I would still not turn round and say to someone expressing a view that, 'you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some.'
Highly condascending some might think, me in particular!
A bit like your post then huh? I'm allowed an opinion, sorry you don't agree with it - but thats life. As this is a virtual crewroom, people will have varying opinions, a fact of life.
As for my post that said - you've got a job, a steady income and a roof over your head, which is a lot more than some, its true. Look around outside the 'HMF bubble' some time, you may see it. DT_Xtremez_14:
Thanks for the reply that confirms my thoughts of you.
