Pay Rise 2009

Ref Nurses pay scales - I do find this slightly out of touch as there are many other trades whose civilian counterparts are on the adgenda for change.

On another point, I note that they have taken away the retention bonus for theatre nurses and just kept it for A/E and ITU nurses. This probably relates to the deployment rates for the latter are on ave every 9 months and for the former every 24 months.

Still, 2.8% is much better than most esp thinking about p45's!:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Looks like an excellent pay rise in the current economic climate.

Have the adjustments to the LSA periods been approved. If so I've jumped a level of LSA which will come in handy for the next OOA.

I couldn't agree more with regards to the point about AHP's and NHS AfC equivalents.

hhhhmmmmmm

hhhhmmmmmm

Is this extra spine the way forward?

I know Nurses are more tri service, but would be handy to have an extra spine to put the aircraft techies on or the divers or anyone else who deserves a bit extra.

good luck to the new SGT's from April too, extra money and your mess dress paid for. Don;t rub it into the noses of those picked up before you!

Thats been done to death on numerous other threads, let's keep this on on topic.

Is it a typo on page 73?

Military annual salaries inclusive of X-Factor from 1 April 2008

No typo
those are the 2008/09 Payscales

the 09/10 scales are on page 55 by the looks of it

admittedly it does say recommended at the top of page 55

I think it is the way forward but it may end up being aimed at deficient trades.

On the newly promoted from next month - fantastic news as at last you get some reqard for being promoted.

Role on band 7 in Nov - how long will I remain there for????:PDT_Xtremez_42:

I'm actually a little dissappointed. Haven't they justified our lower than inflation pay rises by saying we've based it on Sept last years figures?

Sept 2008
RPI 4.4%
CPI 4.8%

They've still pulled a fast one again. Politicians I hate them:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Still 2.8% better than a kick in the slats.

Better than the dole queue like a lot of others. You shouldn't be bumping your gums at all.

Agreed, but the original topic is the 2009 Pay Award and the nurse pay spine is part of that award. There is now a separate thread.

Sorry Fomz but I'm not going to Tug my forelock at the politicians and say thankyou for what is agreed, a reasonable payrise for the moment if they hadn't taken advantage of us over the past few years.
To cap it all they are still eroding service life by increasing rent by 3.7%. Why has the operating costs of Defence Housing gone up 3.7%. So my 2.8% is already slightly down garage rent knocks it again. Reading the report they state that retention is not all about money and although my two examples are they are pointing again to the Govt putting spin on a payrise that does not reflect the past year and seeing how cheap they can make the payrise bill.

NAT, it looks to me like the £4.75 for 'Generalist' and £10.11 for 'Specialist' Nurses is a per day payment whilst employed in those 'areas', in addition to the rise from moving across onto the Nurses pay spine....

If you are a top (increment 7 of 7) Sgt, specialised in A/E, ITU or O/Th i make it a pay rise from today's rates of approx. £7K / year!? What think'eth thee?

To be fair we are getting more the senior civil servants and MP's. Over the last 6 months nearly everything has come down in price so 2.8% is a nice surprise for me.

Is it confirmed that the LSA levels are being tweaked in our favour as well?

Some of the changes to allowances are as follows:

Day Subsistence now £27.01 no change to Incidental Expenses still £5 (UK) £10 (OS).

LSA:

Level 1 Upto 340 = £6.56
Level 2 341 - 580 = £10.25
Level 3 581 - 820 = £13.96
Level 4 821 - 1060 =£15.32
Level 5 1061 - 1300 = £16.50
Level 6 1301 - 1540 = £17.68

Disturbance Allowance:

Privately Owned = £1182
Privately Rented = £1048
SFA/SSFA = 1048
SLA/SSSA = £90

Child Element = £138
