Pay Rise

Just spoke to a geezer recently back from somewhere hot, but rained over Christmas, and the guys and girls had a visit from the CinC (somebody high up apparently) who told them this years pay rise is going to be 13% (yes thirteen percent). Any gen out there?

Also I find the loss of my wifes wage while the move goes on is a real killer. And we are lucky she works in the NHS so transfers are good and quick.

Really? I'm wanting to move to Lincolnshire toward the end of this year and there have been virtually no (nursing) jobs advertised for months.

One point I would like to add is the £5000 on posting to move home is pathetic......stamp duty alone on a £250K home is £7500 its a joke.

I couldn't agree more. The limit on legal fees was 5K when I joined up. 14 years later and it's still the same - fcuking ridiculous. I can't remember the last time I processed a claim that came in under the limit.

I wish I could afford a £250k home. Fcuk me I know I'm on the lower pay band but even if I used Abbey National for a mortgage at 5 time salary I wouldn't be able to afford a £250k home.

Well it is late Feb and still no sign of our payrise last year it was published on the 16 Feb 06.

So it is late

What is the latest rumour - here at Bzn it is 3.5 - 4.5 % it would have been more but for the new danger money tax break allowance for certain OOAs

heard a corking rumour today from a mate who has just returned from up north. its seem a13% payrise is on the cards......... but its only for the 'hard working vitally self important' zobs. The real people are getting a moral reducing 3%. I reckon that could have some truth to it! over to you guys

Thats a corker. Just imagine if they pulled that one out of the hat. I suppose the large pay for the Zob's, would be for all the extra work that they would have to do. When all the rest of us have walked out the camp gates, never to return.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Thing is though, surely even if we all tried to walk the Government could either stop us or re-introduce conscription?

I think the government may have made it's bed as far as that is concerned...there are so many PC orientated laws around that a lawyer would be abled to tie them up in legal knots for months if anything was tried 'en masse' without the country being at a state of war...

To be honest I doubt they could!! EU Court of Human Rights et al. probably means it'd be very difficult to stop the massive flood of ex-servicmen onto civvy street.

Conscription... Hmmmmmm well I reckon some mothers group would probably argue that their little chav angels couldn't possibly do it as it'd be infringing their human rights that they couldn't wear burberry and gold chains, as well as being ageist for only conscripting those of a certain age, not to mention racist as all of the illegal imigrants living down pikey ave didn't have to do it cos their not on the system.

Thats the kind of thing you run into when you create a nanny state though :PDT_Xtremez_25:

in the mess today chating with someone who is on some sort of lean/bit/training cell duty. he was chatting to some big knobs about it. hey ho he could be right, but my money is on a pay cut!
