Pay Rise

Just spoke to a geezer recently back from somewhere hot, but rained over Christmas, and the guys and girls had a visit from the CinC (somebody high up apparently) who told them this years pay rise is going to be 13% (yes thirteen percent). Any gen out there?

yes but they get £1000 quid to go and buy a comfy chair and stay clean. i get a kick in the tits paid peanuts to get dermatitas, as clothing store wont give me another set of overalls, cos im only budgeted for 2 sets. grrrr . it better be a good pay rise. AFPRB i no where you live.

The AFPRB report is VERY late this year. So its one of two scenarios IMHO:

1. Crap pay rise despite all the media attention and therefore the need to bury it when the fleet street scum are otherwise occupied ... OR

2. Bigger than normal and its taking time to force it past Gordon the Grasper.

I vote for option 1.

See you in civvie street!

new overalls

new overalls

CoD,
take a set of overalls double bag and seal them, splash some fuel, hyd oil or other smelly substance on the bag, then take to stores and ask for a new pair to replace contaminated ones . at the same time ask them if they are going to dispose of said contaminated article, or do they want you to do it for them :PDT_Xtremez_15:

hint the smellier the bag the less likely they will dispose of them

hopefully this will work if not get your grown up to make a phone call to friendly/helpful civvy stacker (who thinks everything in clothing stores was bought out of his own pocket to give you some more pairs because they are PPE and you can't do you job without them!!

overalls are like boxer shorts, u should have at least 3-- 1 to wear, 1 to wash and 1 backup :PDT_Xtremez_30:

hope this helps

To be honest here, fellow goaters. I think the goverment are delibratly holding back on the announcment. There could be something in this latest pay reveiw that are making them worried as what the result of the announcment could do. We will know soon enough.::P:

Mmmmmmmm got me thinking on this one... normally the payrise comes out and also so does the AFPRB booklet normaly the size of a bible printed on glossy paper.

So a hold up (true Gordon holds us all up every month) .... but has the AFPRB booklet been sent back to the printers for some tip-ex ?

6% now 0.6% come on you latteral thinkers what else is going on??????

civvies leading the way

civvies leading the way

So the civvies (well some of them) have called a strike after getting 2.5% a year (plus bonus)
Does that mean they think we are getting more. All the PFI and IPT civilianisations seems a good idea now doesn't it?
My vote goes on 3% and a hold on the extortion on married qtr charges shooting up to civve levels, as the look how good we are.
We already know the LSA system has changed and I also read somewhere the disturbance rates have changed form 1600 down to 1100 for private move once army comes onto JPA. BOO!
Talking of which is JPA not off for a while soon? How they going to add all that cash or are they going to hold off like the old pay 2000 scam!

So as he announces large troop withdrawals does bliar also say here's a nice pay rise and all vote labour, or does he say you don't need the money now and we don't need your vote cos we ain't getting elected anyway?

pay rise?

pay rise?

a pay rise would have to be in region of 7.5% for the majority of us when you take into account mortgage interest rate rises and utilities rises and fuel rises without the RILOR going up.......my 4x4 techie wagon is a thirsty mother on the 50 mile on-road trip from my 4 bed exec detached in leafy suburbia well away from the sound of jet noise !!!

Sarcasam on here never!!!

Sarcasam on here never!!!

CoD,
ah! B******S spot the newbie, must have forgot to change into my strait jacket before i posted :PDT_Xtremez_30:

is there a smiley for sarcasm ????

I think we have our smokescreen for the announcement of a potentionally average payrise (again)...TB is to officially announce the withdrawal in the commons tomorrow...If I was a betting man I'd expect the payrise to come out about an hour either side of it...

3% is probably a good call, but a freeze on MQ charges? Not a hope.

Where did you read about disturbance allowance going down? It's news to me but I am a bit out of the loop at the mo.

JPA is off for 2 weeks in March (I forget the exact dates 'cos it's changed half a dozen times in as many weeks) to prepare for Army rollout. Now that's going to be entertaining. Believe me, I've spent the last 4 months working with the Welsh Guards and others. They really are clueless and unwilling to learn from us and the Navy.

'Pay them more'

Surely to god these people are supposed to be in politics to represent their constituents and because they want to make a diference not purely to make as much money as possible? Or am I just being naive?

Bring back the days when you had to have a private income to be an MP, landed gentry etc. Then we wouldn't have to pay them a all! :-)

And the only people who could afford to be MPs would be public-school educated nonces who are totally out of touch with the great British public.

Oh.

spoke to someone yesterday who is into his statistics and he recons that when the AFPRB are late in announcing pay rises it is usually a bad sign.Is it me or are we a little late in hearing anything.

Lord Guthrie (former CDS) has thrown his hat into the ring about Armed Forces overstretch, underfunding and sh!t poor morale.

Just a shame it's too late for the AFPRB Report, which I reckon is sat on Bliar's desk waiting for another good day to bury bad news.
