By submitting one of your AIPs, you got to go up a pay level in the rank you were in. Once you have reached the top pay level of that rank, and have been there for a year - surely that AIP advantage/advancment has finished? Therefore they should only be looking at the rank in which you used the AIP, not the time from when you submitted the AIP until the persent day. Either way it's the same sh@t up hill battle, in which the fish in the barrel loose, yet again

Couldn't agree more, an AIP only jumps you one level, every other increment after that was done on time, rather that claw back 1000's in cash, why not just put every body affected down one level? would be cheaper in the long run and IMO fairer as you only advanced one level? I

Yeah, but from claiming your 1 level ahead of where you should have been hence they work out the figure from the point of claiming the AIP to ensure you get fisted.

We relied on the admin trade(are they a trade?) to sort out our AIPs years ago, and it has been royally stuffed, not just by one adminner/camp but all over. Now the trust has been put back in the same gang to sort it out! GOD HELP YOU ALL

Most of this down to one of your own, one TS says yes, next TS says no.

Mil admin meeting Fri Morn....

Mil admin meeting Fri Morn....

Been called in for meeting with WO on fri Morn - can only hope its good news but i think i may be disillusioned... :(

The IBN 15/16 does not read well.

I have a feeling that co's cup teams up and down the country may be short of volunteers for the next few months at the very least.

Having spoken to my union rep at work about this he seems to think that the case from the treasury is very poor, you can't take someones pay rise away after it has been signed off no matter who you are as an employer.

My thoughts exactly...if this is legal what's stopping companies and organisations all over the globe using it as a precedent?

I know this is a hard subject for most but I don't think the Admin bashing in my view is helping.

Back at my old unit the Adminers actually questioned the Engineering WO over this and were told it was correct. Add to that the "guidance" given by the TS, not to mention the changing of the goal posts for Ex-TG3 FSs reference the List 1 trades nonsense and you have had a shambles for my world since the all pink and fluffy ICT TG4 world was born with the sole intention of saving an inferior trade in the shape of TG11 TCOs.

So I'll back the Adminers in this!! It is the TSs of the time and the organisation as a whole that needs to take a look at itself.

There are a whole host of reasons that people were incorrectly awarded AIPs. Trying to shift the blame from admin to TSs and back and forth doesn't really help. A whole bunch of people on all sides fcuked up.

Is it not a clear cut case that if someone put 2 AIPs in as an SAC 1 being a BTEC and the other an NVQ level 3 then it was always stated that they are classed as Q-PI-A and Q-PI-B, and the rules were only 1 at different ranks if this case? I only ask as I know a few people who did this and they are paying for it now.

Can't be that clear cut mate; the majority of cases are those who put 2 in at SAC.

We were actively encouraged to do it when leaving Cosford.

I may know someone who's submitted the entire offensive story to The Daily Hate Mail under the guise of Pete 'O Probe....:PDT_Xtremez_30:

On a lighter note OC PSF at a certain Lincs Base has stated that 2 individals here, after discussion with PSF and a view of evidence are submitting an appeal on justifiable grounds.

That's good news for those two individuals. And must be hope for many others in this similar situation.

As an AIP (Think of it as a key to unlocking a door) bumps you up the Pay Scale 1 level then yes.

Thanks for that. I was thinking it was more like a reward for having extra skills/qualifications. Some civvie firms pay supplements for extra skills/qualifications but don't base-line them against a pensionable salary, like commission, overtime and bonuses. Saves them a fortune on pension payments.
